Ilka v Goats

Hi Ali, love the swimming videos wish we had a big pond/mini lake like that we just have a deepish muddy puddle. thanks, thought I was mad (teeth cleaning), I go though my horses tail with mainly fingers and conditioner spray, it takes... sorry going off. looked at kit again clippers do look bit cheap and cheerful, will look at argos, thanks about CD but the video on hear is good so don't think is needed, those coats look good but think first I'm going to try and make one out of a big towel (so probably end up buying one he he). Karen (with Maggie an Tilly) put this link on the FORUM (that can be found from the front page of http://www.munstermag.homestead.com/ Munstermag is not a breeders website, and the FORUM is a collection of owners and breeders around the world!) hope Karen or you Ali or any one else, don't mind me putting this on. http://www.agilitywarehouse.com/product_detail.cfm?id=75 thanks.

Sophie

That kit does look good value but not sure the clippers will be powerful enough to do the job, I would phone them and ask then if they don't you could return them, mine are from argos they are just clippers for hair around £20 not the pet ones the human ones not sure what new ones they have in the latest book though, I bought re-chargeable so don't have to have cord in the way.
Teeth cleaning is fine it gets the dog used to having their teeth looked at, however I have you admit at never cleaning teeth but don't need to even Tarka's 13 year old toothy pegs are still white, but I do give them a lot of teeth cleaning chews such as pigs ears and beef hide chews, if Ilka likes it why not Sophie the more you do with her and the more you handle her the better. She always looks so fit and well you are obviously doing it all right Sophie, so keep up the good work, would you like a CD of the clipping and if so e mail me your address as I can't find my address book anywhere!!!!!

Grooming tips and hints

Right I have done two videos one showing the clipping and trimming of the front foot and pastern and the second on the back hock and foot. The quality isn't great as I had to reduce it to get it on the blog HOWEVER if you would like a good quality copy send me a CD and I will send you a copy of each, also two pictures, of dog coats. I hope this helps you all.
The stretchy coat is great if your dog has a lot of hair on which curls up, a toweling coat on top will also her the coat dry flat.
A towelling coat put on after a bath and the coat has been brushed down flat, will give your dogs coat a lovely shiny flat finish, the one in the picture is a bit on the large side most of them stark on the bottom of the neck and finish at the tail but it gives you the idea.

Trimming back foot and hock

As I said for a better quality copy on a CD please contact me it's no problem and I would be happy to do it, if anyone wants another aspect covered on any part of having/grooming/training/showing or working your Munster let me know I will give it a go!

Oh yes collar marks, using a round stitched collar reduces damage to hair, if it's just curling up then a bath and coat will straighten it but if it's actually rubbing hair away try and only put the collar on when you need to. My show dogs only have a collar on for a walk at home they don't wear one.

Thanks to my Models Logi and Diva and camera man James! x x x

Again sorry for the quality but it's taken me all afternoon to get it uploaded Bl***y thing it has made me really compress the files, no trouble to send a CD but hope it helps you all out, next topic and will give it a go again!
