Names etc

Lovely to hear from you Sue about how your names came about and everyone else too.

Domino was called this in the litter, we didn't have any good ideas for a name and liked that, so it stuck. As time has gone on and we found Domino is a bit of a mouthful to say, she's often called Dom. When Mazy was in the litter she was called Dottie. We had decided to have a name with only two syllables this time and Charlotte and I wrote lists of names that we liked and the only one we agreed on was Mazy. The spelling of it was Charlotte's doing, she says it's easier to spell than Maisy or Maisie.

It is a bit busy here now the children started school holidays last Friday. The weather was awful here today, I really hope it's not going to continue this bad for the whole of the holidays. Oh, and we're camping Friday night on the way to Leeds for Saturday.

Names

Pet names for my Munsters before i started to bred them myself. I had a Carla, wanted to call her Calley but Tony's friends had had a baby girl afew days before we went to collect our pup and they called her Calley. Tony didn't think it would be very good to name the pup the same, so he wanted Carla and got it.
Next came Rael (rail) not has in BR but from an album by Genesis A lamb lays down on Broadway. Rael is a creature thing that they sing about and i just liked it.
Then the love of my life taken away from me at far too young an age, Sarek. This is from Star Trek (yes i am abit of a trekkie ) it is the name of Spock's father. And again a name that was just so right. Rolled of the tongue and no one else had one by that name, just like Rael.
Then we had Jiggy, now he was to be called Worf (star trek again ) but was far to handsome. So I said OK we will call him Ryker (Star trek yet again) but the family didn't like it. So while the family tried to agree on a name (he was here by now) we carried on calling him jigsaw, which is what Christine O had been calling him in the litter. Well it stuck and just got shortened !!!
Then came Majik, again she was majik in the litter,andd Mrs O said i could have her but not change the name. So we now had Rael, Sarek, Jiggy and Majik in the house. Will do the rest tomorrow.

Maggie

What a little minx, they certainly have us on a bit of string don't they. Karen don't be daunted by Hall barn, just give it a go, James is hoping to have a go as well, you wont be alone as a beginner. From what I have seen you have really put the ground work in, wish we had!!!!! Trouble with mine they don't 'do' dummies what the point Mum you need feathers not canvas!!

Glad you like the Diva interlude, she is daft, Sophie I have e mailed you back and as for names of our cats we have, Tinker, (we had her brother who was Taylor, you know tinker, taylor, soldier sailor, rich man etc etc...) Then Sky as in Skywalker in starwars to go with Princess Leah and Hans Solo, then James named two as a toddler from his favourite cartoon, Cosmo and Wanda, Ambrose as he is golden, Tonks amd Crookshanks from Harry Potter, Tiger because she looks like one and Trifle because she was a trifle small, all a bit silly but there you go!

Have any of you with puppies booked thought of names yet? Or are you waiting to see what they are like first......... James who will keep a bitch next year or the year after has chosen the name Tetra, which I quite like.

Whats in a name.........

Whoops meant to put this in the last post!
Names I love the fact that some names in a family just crop up again and again with out anyone realising the connection, for instance, Aileen called Georgia, Georgia and then I told her that Aunty Ch Raycris Simply Gorgeous is also called Georgia, (Jiggy's sister), Judith also told me that one of the boys is going to be called Hudson, well Grampy Logi has a brother called Hudson. I also like the way some people come up with names and what they mean to the owners. One of my puppy owners called their boy Blitzan, Blitz for short, you can guess why. With us the most recent one to be named was Prima, she got her name because of Diva, you see we now have a Diva and a Prima Donna! Tarka was named after Tarka the otter as we lived in Devon when we had her as a baby and she used to go for her walks and swims exactly where the story is based, the Tarka Trail! I would love to know how everyone came up with the names they have..........
