So sorry to hear about Leslie's loss, please will you pass on our sympathies to her, I do not know the lady, but it is so hard to lose a much loved friend, I know I have been through it myself a number of times now and it never gets any easier.

Tetra is certainly keeping you well topped up with presents Ali, it just shows what soft mouths these dogs have, to deposit the mole in your lap unscathed.

Some lovely pictures on here, great to see all the dogs following their natural instincts and having fun. It sounds like Evie has turned the corner now and her training is beginning to sink in so very well done, keep us updated with her progress.

We are all off up to Border Union tomorrow, so just a quick catch up as I have to go and make up the sandwiches, and pack the Show Bag. It has been raining heavily today on and off here in the North West, so I need to decide what to wear, think it will have to be something waterproof, as showers are predicted for Kelso to.

Talk about clever! I bet that was some shock when you found that in your hand bag! Especially when you are more used to things being taken from it! (The bag check after you have been out to see fi there is anything for them!)

Sorry to hear about Josie - my thoughts are with the family .It leaves you feeling so empty. Glad to hear Tarka has recovered Ali - it must have been frightening for you. I just love the name of you new pad too - 'Mudlarks' has a great ring to it.
What a handsome pup - I'm sure someone will snap him up. What happened to the 18 month old bitch that was up for rehoming?
Evie has been so good on her walks lately and all her earlier behaviour seems to have stopped to the extent that yesterday she even returned to my whistle when a Roe deer popped out infront or her. That was the ultimate test and I was chuffed to bits with her. It reedemed her from her earler behaviour that day when she chewed up two of my new cushions in the kitchen -she can't leave anything alone if it is new.
Love the story of the mouse and all the animals Ali. Wouldn't life be dull without them!

Lovely picture of your girls lined up Ali. I was going to take a picture of Maggie and Elsa playing with friends they often meet in the field down the road but now it has sheep in that's not likely to happen.

Have heard from Leslie Burrows with some sad news, another of Tarka's daughters passed away aged 11 1/2 years old. Josie was a beautiful girl and much loved and adored by Leslie and all the family. My symapthies go out to Leslie and all the family, they leave such a gaping hole. It's particularly hard for me to hear just now as it's a year ago we lost Leah, her sister and Tarka has had a stroke. Thankfully she has recovered fully but it was very scary for her and me, she is now on medication to help with her circulation and she is back to her normal self, but still very worrying. I just hope she goes on for a while yet. I would love her to make it to Mudlarks Farm with us. Thank you for all the lovely messages from those who have already heard about Tarka, it really means a lot to us all.

This handsome, cheeky chappie is looking for a loving home. A friend who breeds has been let down and mucked around by someone who was going to have this little fella, but that is someone elses good fortune as he is now available to the 'right' home. I did laugh about the mouse in the handbag Ali!

Took the dogs down to one of my favourite fields today - only one around that's been cut and hasn't got crops growing and found they have put sheep in so I had to turn around and go a different way - dogs were very confused. I will take them in there soon on the lead just to give Elsa some experience of the sheep but didn't feel like the hassle today. In the end I went up to a wheat field and Elsa enjoyed jumping up and down in it. She flushed a couple of partridge while in there which I think surprised her - she stood still and I grabbed her collar and gave her a reward but when I let her go she headed off in the direction they had flown so I started running the other way and she came back to me. I should have put her on the lead thinking about it but didn't think she would go back.

More unlikely friendships

I've had this lovely photo sent in to me by Karen Saynor, Karen has Ekko, one of my favourite Munsters!!! Such a super working girl, and so pretty. Anyway I digress!! this is of Grouse and another unlikely friendship with a sheep. Thanks Karen.

Confused animals

Must get some photo's to back this up, but my cats, dogs and rabbits are a little confused. Diva who has just had her season, has started to mother the cat again, I caught the cat trying to feed off her twice yesterday. Wanda, one of the cats has decided to bring home 'presents' for the puppies, things like mice with the odd Bird thrown in, she brings them in and then calls the puppies, Tetra is usually the first to get there so she picks up the body and then gallops to me and presents me with the present. Living on a farm there is a never ending supply!!! Well yesterday she bombed but I didn't see why, I was doing a difficult task on a web page so just told her to steady up without taking much notice. When I went to the vets about an hour later, I put my hand into my bag to find a pen and ended up finding the present Tetra left me in there, a lovely dead Mouse!!!! I didn't know where to put myself!!!! I remember now my bag was on the floor by my feet when Tetra bombed in earlier. But that's not all, the cats have also caught rabbits in the past, and as James has two lop eared rabbits that he bred, I am always panicked when they dig out and escape. Well as I left the house yesterday I opened the front the door only to see Cosmo, asleep on the neighbours garden seat with the rabbits lying in the shade underneath, not only that Tyger was lying between the rabbits and washing one of them!!!!!!!

Definitely some species confusion going on don't you think. I am just relieved the dogs didn't spot the rabbits they would not of give them a chance.

Welcome Sarah and Jed - Jed is getting a big boy! I have Jed's sister Elsa. I'm not great with computers either - but you will soon get the hang of blogging! The campsite sounds a great place for Jed to meet lots of people. I know what you mean about the ears - Maggie suffers with Elsa hanging on then end of them too!

Mandy, Oscar is looking a lot more grown up on the photos - losing his puppy looks. I wish Elsa would get her adult teeth - she still has most of her puppy ones. I expect Misty is grateful too!

Elsa is getting more and more confident on her walks now and is venturing further. We have bean fields everywhere here and she keeps disappearing. I find being very quiet makes her come out to see where I've gone)lol

I was on my way home today and one minute Maggie was with me and the next I heard a yipping in the distance and thought that sounds just like Maggie - looked down and she'd gone - that's the trouble with beans you can't see where they have gone. I had to whistle a few times but she came back fairly promptly. Only another 3 years for her to be the perfect angel then Sandra!

Sarah, that is the show, although now it's moved across to West point. You really should come and see us all there, you could enter Jed in Puppy dog and we can all go in together, why not?!? IF you didn't want to show him yourself I'm sure I could twist an arm or two!!!!! I will be in with Darcy, James is showing Ludo, maybe Judith would show Jed, but then again, Karen C and Karen A, and Kathy and Lins will be showing thier own so you could do it. I feel a party coming on!!!!

Hi everyone. Karen, is the Paignton show the one thats held at Crealy? If so I live about two minutes from there, but have never been. I weighed Jed this morning he is 27kg. I can't believe how fast and big he is growing. Its nine years since we last had a pup in the house, but so far so good....

Mandy, Jed is also not sure about water yet, I was in our large pond the other day with wadders on day weeding, he was desperate to come in but couldn't bring himself to take the plunge. Then our old spaniel (who does not like water, strange dog) got in and swam around me as if show him how to do it!!

I have been watching all the puppies on here growing up so fast !!!!!! they're just like mushrooms grow an inch overnight, or so it seems.

Hi Karen nice to hear from you again and glad the ball worked with the recall. I know I had quite a few scary times with Narla when she was going through the naughty adolescence stage, but luckily I had good friends who told me not to panic, and gave me a few tips.

And now she has me fully trained to her liking !!!

Narla is 5 now and a perfect angel ( most of the time) but she has definitely taught me a thing or two along the way.

Hello Sandra & Narla and Sarah & Jed

Welcome to the blog, I am sure you will enjoy been on here. I own Oscar he is just over 5 months old, he is related to the Blitzans, Logi is his Grandad, he is my first Munsterlander I also have a black and white Springer Spaniel called Misty she is 10 1/2 years old.

Love all the pictures, not been on for a few days so had a lot of catching up to do!! How brave is Elsa, Oscar will paddle in the water if it is shallow but has not had a swim yet, I will have to take him somewhere that is safe and see if he will venture in as Misty loves to swim so he might follow her in we will see. Ludo looks as lovely as even do like that little man. Ali, Logi looks like he has been up to mischief with the mud on his face, he is a very handsome man, is it Darcy with the flying ears?? Well done Brodie you must be very proud of him. Rosie, love Ringo he is a big boy at the side of your Springer!! (Sorry if missed anyone out)

Oscar now has all his adult teeth, which is better for Misty when they are playing which is now 24/7 as we have started to leave him out of his crate a lot more when we are not around and so far so good!! He has also now realised he is a boy (more so with Misty) when she is laid down he likes to stand over the top of her with a look on his face as if to say look what I can do so any advice would be a help please as Oscar is the first male dog I have owned always had girls before!!!!

Darcy, Logi and Tarka have been up to our Farmland today, we have a serious amount of fencing to get on with let alone the bottom meadow, which needs mowing and bailing, it's full of wild flowers up there too.
