Hurt legs

Sorry Stig has hurt his leg Rose. Nothing worse trying to keep an active dog quiet. Maggie hurt her front wrist in February, she was put on anti-inflammatory but as she was such an active dog the vet suggested putting her leg in a splint so that it helped to keep it still. It worked very well actually and mended quickly. She looked very sorry for herself though with her leg all bound up.

I took this picture of her when she came back from the vet

I hope Stigs leg gets better soon.

Ali, Maggie was spayed at the beginning of March - just after she hurt her wrist. She had 10 days rest with her leg and then had to be kept quiet for a further 10 days after she was spayed and not long after that she cut her paw and so more lead work - was a hard month or two to say the least!

I was very undecided about getting her spayed then or to wait until after her second season as she was still quite young. While I was with my vet after she hurt her wrist we had a long talk about it and in the end decided to do it. It had to be done straight away though as she was in between her seasons and if I had left it much longer it would be too late. After her op the vet told me that during the operation they found Maggie to be in the first stages of pyometra and that it was a good thing I had her spayed when I did. I was very relieved I had her done and not waited. To be honest I haven't noticed much change in her since the op - except that she has lost a lot of her coat and her tail is thinner but I'm hoping this will grow back. Does spaying them make them mature quicker or slower?
