That too sounds familiar for me Tessa. I had the same problem with Kaia last year, and even occasionally still if we go somewhere 'exciting'.
For Kaia I bought a spray collar - not one of the electric shock ones as i think they are cruel - we had the remote control and Kaia would wear the collar with the spray box on. It was useful for out on walks as if used at the right time the spray distracts them just long enough to get their attention back. However i would say that there were a few times that she was going so fast with such intense concentration that she didnt even notice the spray - i guess they are not as effective as the e-collars but more humane i feel and better than nothing if you are at a complete loss.
Good luck with Evie, she must be a very intelligent little girl with a lot of spirit (just how i like them!). Will you be at the LMC champ show in June?
