I got up to this email, and I have to say I was happy to receive it. The whole point of the blog is to offer advice and guidance to people who hit upon troubles, not to judge the person who has the problems. It is also to high light the fact that Munsterlanders are not 'the same' as all other gundogs and as such training is often done slightly differently. Below is the email I received.
Hi Ali
I just thought I would drop you a note to say how impressed I was with the response and good advice on your forum with regards to the use of choke chains in the Gundog Clubs training course. I had myself considered attending the same course as Lynn but my girl has been in season. As I strongly believe in positive training I was careful to research the trainers websites and was pleased to read on his trainers site that no harsh methods are used in his training. So as you can imagine I have been horrified to discover that the first thing he did was hand out choke chains, and am so pleased that I did not sign up as I would never put a choke chain on my girl. I am hoping to go and meet a trainer soon hopefully with a more positive outcome.

Maybe Lyn could get in touch with the person above and training could be done together with a more suitable trainer.
Tessa don't blame yourself for everything, it is true we all make mistakes but you have not done it all wrong, and you have asked if stuck, that's what it is all about. Let us know how you get on with Christine and Raymond, you couldn't have a better pair to help you with your training.
