This morning on my walk with Maggie I came across a herd of about 30 deer. The deer are coming further out of the woods now to eat the young shoots of the crop that is now appearing. Luckily I saw them before Maggie and called her back to me to put her on the lead. I then walked through the hedge to the deer and made her sit and leave while we watched the deer head off back towards the wood. Maggie was shaking with excitement but didn't try to go after them and I made her wait there until she calmed down. When I let her off the lead again she was fine and didn't try to go after them. Thank goodness I saw them first!
Elsa is visibly growing each morning I wake up - I'm sure. I know this because carrying her downstairs is becoming quite hard. She bounds up the stairs with great delight but refuses to come down. I have had to put a stair gate up because this was becoming a game - during the day she would bound up the stairs and then bark for me to help her down!
