Elsa talking - no idea what she's on about though!

I want that apple!

Poor Elsa still hasn't managed to jump on the trampoline - the apple tree near by often drops apples on to it which is even more frustrating for her and Maggie makes it worse by hopping up there so easily - Elsa gets very cross)lol

Quite a menagerie you have Judith!!

Elsa

Elsa is besotted with her new friend and still continually looks for her. Tilly though has been in the shelter keeping cool.

Elsa looking for Tilly

Lydia, who has never been interested in horses before has suddenly turned horse mad and is totally in love with Tilly. Tonight she gave Tilly her goodnight feed and was grinning from ear to ear!

Our walk by the river

Took the dogs to the river today to cool off. Elsa loved the water but didn't actually swim today. Instead she just got angry with Maggie for going in without her and mobbed her everytime she came out)lol The water here stays shallow for quite a way so I'm not sure whether it was because Elsa didn't want to go to far in that she didn't swim or that the swim at the resevoir has put her off. I hope its not the latter.

Well done Karen in the money you raised today. I have to say I am very impressed! I find running impossible in any weather but it's got to be a lot harder when it's so hot -
A BIG WELL DONE!

Elsa's first swim

I took Elsa for her first swim today at the resevoirs. She jumped in after Maggie without hesitation but then got a bit worried and turned back. She swam with her front feet up high and so wan't a good swimmer but hopefully this is just a puppy thing. She loved the water though and even though she actually went under when she first went in she went back in again. My heart was in my mouth watching her and I told Frank to get ready to jump in after her)lol Maggie did all the retrieving of the dummy and Elsa and Nellie ran to meet her each time she came out with it.

Morning

Follow the leader
Not sure I'm allowed in there

Ok I'll just wait here for you

Lovely pictures of Ringo and friends. Also Jack looks like such a sweet dog and very pretty which of course crossbreeds often are but I wouldn't support actively trying to cross them - there are enough unwanted dogs around due to accidents. How does she know if she gets a large litter off a cross breed she will be able to find homes for them - they may not turn out anything like she expected which of course happens. There are two poodle x lab dogs I see on walks near us - but they are totally different in looks and characters you could hardly call them the same breed.

Morning

Weather horrible yesterday but things are going to improve and we are going to get a hot weekend I think. Elsa picked up a half eaten corn on the cob today (typical Elsa) She then carried it for most of the walk, dropped it to have a dip in the brook, found it on the way home and carried it back! She just loves having something in her mouth.

Joanne - I'd love to see some pics of your dogs on the beach too. It does sound lovely.

Great picture of Darcy and mum Ali. And great pictures of Oscar Mandy too - he is very photogenic.

Lovely day here - hope it continues over the weekend. Elspeth I think that is a great picture of Ceilidh! She certainly was enjoying the grass in the video and Paddy bless him was buried in it! The grass is long here too and Maggie and Elsa love it. It's also full of buttercups which make a good background for a picture - but getting them to stay still long enough to take a picture is near on impossible!

Ali - Lydia won't be coming to the LMC show - just me as she has her theatre group on Saturdays and won't want to miss it.

Morning

The sun was out when I started out on our walk this morning but went in when I took my camara out - typical! Elsa loves it when we get back into our paddocks as she knows them and feels confident there. She runs around chasing Maggie and hiding in the long grass.

Sarah - that is a very sad story - one that is probably happening all too often. I do wonder why families take on dogs though when they can barely look after themselves. I agree with Elspeth though, education in schools is a good idea.

Ali - lovely to have you back - Lovely photos of Mr Darcy, Tetra and of course Tinker!

Lovely picture of Summer on the photo blog - one of my favourate Blitzen girls! http://www.photos.thelargemunsterlander.com/
