Darcy Doughnut helps me in his own sweet way to wrap presents!!!!!

Sounds like you have your hands full with little miss Tansy Loudon. She is very pretty though.
Great to hear that Cosmos has settled. I would love some snow - wouldn't it be great to have a real snowy Christmas!
Love the pictures of Tetra and Darcy together - they look so mature now don't they?
Your hoilday sounds fantastic Judith and lucky you for seeing so many whales. We didn't see any when we were there a few years back as it was the wrong time of year but we did see Sperm Whales in New Zealand which was just awe inspiring. Did you do the Great White Shark dive in Hermanus? We did but I have to say that I lost my bottle whilst waiting in the little cage and decided to watch from the side of the boat instead - my goodness they are huge. Your picture of the coastline captures the wildness of S.Africa which makes it so dramatic. Your friends live in a very pretty place - Knysna is lovely. Great people, great scenery, great food and great wine just about sums it up don't you think? Hard coming back to the dreary weather we are having at the moment I should imagine - hope you feel better soon.
Just a quick update on Tansy's progress. Very lively but great fun. Had her first day at school which, after some initial reticence, quickly gained confidence and became quite disruptive! Now enroled for six week course. Having had such a lucky time when we had all the puppies the weather is certainly having its revenge - sloshing around everywhere you go. Tansy hates it and very reluctant to step out for a pee! As the smallest of the litter I would love to know if she is catching up with her siblings. I wonder too whether the others a re quite as vociferous as she is!! Still its early days and we enjoy the exuberance and playfulness of this puppy stage. I have received an email today from the USA to say that Cosmos is in great form too and they cannot wait to see how he will react to the coming of the snow which can be as much as 14".
Wow Judith what a fab time you look to have had, the pictures are great very jealous. Love the picture of Darcy and Tetra side by side, these dogs do grow up so quick. I am also loving all the puppy pictures if only I was allowed another!! Must remember to take my camera out on our walks it had been so miserable here just rain, rain and more rain, saying that though the dogs are happy to walk come rain or shine.
Judith you're welcome, I didn't really do anything, your smashing kids did it all.
No way would you bore any of us so put up as many pictures as you can, plus tell us all about your epic trip, I have to say I am green with envy though!
I can't get over the views, and imagine seeing the wildlife wild, amazing, and how it should be, can't wait to see your video of the whales too.

It's quite quiet on here at the moment, I think we are all hibernating!!!!!

Thank you & Home

Well back from Africa, first A BIG THANK YOU to Ali for keeping an eye on things while we were away. Now for the bad news, I was suppose to be judging at South of England Gundog today but have been struck down with the lurgy and feeling quite ucky!!! But the web feet are coming on nicely since i have been home.

Just afew pics from our holiday (dont want to bore you all) but South Africa is just so beautiful, we went around the eastern and western cape area. Our friends live in Knysna and they met us in Cape Town and it was straight up Table Mountain, the view was fantastic, after that a walk around the sea front in Cape Town it was then a drive back to Stellenbosch to some self catering accommodation and a Braai for tea (a bbq) beautifully cooked over the woodfire. At the accommodation we had Zebra, Wildebeast, Springbok and Elan all around us.

Then after 2 nights here it was the long drive back to Knysna, what a drive that was. We stopped off at Hermanus for a spot of Whale(southern right whales) watching and we weren't disappointed. One of the most amazing and in away spiritual things that i have ever seen. They come in so close and put their heads out of the water, like they are watching us watching them. We had a mother, her calf and an juvenile come right in, tail slapping, just fantastic. In total there must have been 15-20 of them in the bay. And to think that man nearly hunted these creatures to extinction. Back in the car and the drive through the winelands around the Cape to Knysna and to Tony & Barb's home. Also a pic of Wildness Bay and a Brackish water lake with mountains cant think of it's name. Will do part 2 later!!!!

Izzy and big brother Jensen

Izzy and Willow kissing

Izzy on my Tesco's Christmas bag

Hi Everyone
Izzy is finding her feet, Jensen has found a new play mate and Willow is coming around slowly.
She went to the pub last night and was a big hit with everyone, in the end chilled out on the table on her towel, have done this with all my munsters, as when we go out they come with us.
This pub is run & owned by my friend Jenny who until a few weeks ago had 2 munsters, but she lost Bracken, who was about 13 years old. She still has Ping. So if anyone (after Christmas) knows of a boy munster, it will have to be a boy as Ping is not keen on girls, who needs a new home, let me know and I can run it by Jenny. Ali you may know.
Sorry to hear that you have the flu Judith, hope you are better soon.
Lovely pics of all puppies.
Ali do you think she looks like her Dad? Sharon does.
Sandra thanks for my little girl-Jensen bless has done a great job today by playing with her and wearing her out-best day yet!

Change of judge for South of England GD

Quick notice about tomorrow and South of England Gundog show, Judith is meant to be judging but is suffering in bed with the flu, so has had to cancel. There will of course be a change of judge.
She is dissapointed but you can't help ill health, thats the trouble of going to somewhere hot like Africa and then coming back to a wet, cold and dreary UK.

Ali Logi has certainly been a wonderful daddy, and what gorgeous children he has, the head shot of his daughter Summer is lovely. I can't believe that he is really over 8 he certainly doesn't look it, and lovely to see him playing with Darcy, speaks volumes that two entire males can get on as well as they do.

Is it really a year since you went to Sweden, the time just flies by, but very well worth the trip, and Tetra and Darcy are both lovely examples of the breed, I had the pleasure of seeing their sister Gerti a couple of weeks ago and she was a stunner to.

Summer coming in season early, well we can't really time these things and we will have some new puppy pictures in the spring, I am sure she will have a lovely litter.

Thanks Steph for putting up the pictures of Maier, glad she is sleeping through, Dee Dee is settling more now, but if the other dogs bark she wakes up, so it can be a bit difficult getting anything done.

Gorgeous puppy pictures

Summer's close up Tetra watches the boys play!
Logi and Darcy decide bedtime is the right to have a game!!!

Ah bless Darcy loves Logi!!!
Enjoying seeing all the lovely pictures on the blog Logi, (Sh Ch Blitzan Rhine JW ShCm) is a very proud Daddy, with lots of gorgeous children out there, it's hard to think he will be 9 years old in April, where does the time go? One of his first litters are Veterans now, time really goes too quick. Summer, who happens to be Logi's daughter is threatening to come into season now, would be nice if she could hold off a little longer, but what will be will be!!!

It started off blue sky and sunny but now is raining again, wish it would dry up, although this time last year I was trekking across Europe to Sweden with Diva and remember it snowing when I left and going through Holland, Denmark and Sweden with huge drifts of snow, it however poured with rain on the way home all the way home especially through Germany, funny looking at my big babies thinking they were conceived a year ago!!! It was well worth it all wasn't it?!?

Darcy has three stud bookings, one being Summer so this time next year we will be watching his children grow up.

Fulaluv Annalise (Maier)

Maier has settled into her new home really well. She is very confident and loves exploring the garden. She has been to school to meet Max at home time and was the center of attention being admired by all the children and parents. She took it all in her stride. She is already showing typical "munster" traits - sitting on my feet and leaning up against me no matter where I am in the house! When I am on the computer she loves to curl up in my lap - great at 8 weeks but I am not looking forward to it when she is 6 months old!! She has the "munster" lie down - stretched out on the carpet flat on her tummy with her legs spread wide apart (will try and get a photo). Her house training is comming along in leaps and bounds and she slept last night from 10.30 pm until 6.00 am. What a star!
She is a joy to be with and so much fun! Thank you Sandra for a fantastic puppy! Hope Dee Dee is enjoying all the attention now and not keeping you up too late! Is Narla enjoying the peace and quiet too?
It is really good to see the pictures of Maier's brothers and sisters on the blogg in their new homes.

Jenna ( Fulaluv Anastasia)

Jenna now lives in Yorkshire with Jon and Sally, and she also has a big brother to look after her he is called Harvey.
So lovely to see all of the puppies in their new homes.

Milo (Fulaluv Aristocrat)

Milo getting to know his big brother Merlin, who belongs to Aly and Robin in Somerset.

Puppies

Jean and Izzy ( Fulaluv Angelina) Izzy now lives with two other Munsterlanders Jenson and Willow.
Thanks to all the new owners for sending me pictures of the puppies in their new homes.

Thursday 26 November 2009

I was always told a general rule of thumb was 5mins per month so at three months 15 mins. Illy is gorgeous and such a lovely rich colour. Another good way of draining energy is games at home - just doing a few minutes training often wears them out. I have bought Maggie and Elsa a christmas present - its called casino - one of those games where they have to work out how to get the treats - can't wait to give it to them - even wrapped it up)lol I have also bought them a few other things but I will have to be careful they don't get more than the kids!

Lovely photo of Troy too - funny boy pulling out the plugs - they do have some funny habits. Maggie and Elsa both sleep in our room too, they never pulled plugs but they both seem to have a fetish for socks and is often a collection of them in their beds in the morning)lol

Very cold here today although the sun is out now it was raining on my walk this morning - again.
Morning all, Pete and Agi, Illy is looking gorgeous, I have emailed you with regards your questions but to be honest an hour of solid walking is too much for a baby, basically you need to build up her exercise gradually as her muscle develops, rather like an athlete, have another look at the book I did you are there is a section in there on exercise. Something to remember is the dogs will always run at least double the distance we walk if not triple.
There have been some lovely pictures on here recently, please can you all start thinking about your favorites and drop me an email to let me know, many thanks.

Exercise

Hi, we have been enjoying taking Illy out for walks in our local park since she had her 2nd injections. One thing we have been wondering about though is how much exercise is too much for a puppy? Illy is 12 weeks old now and we have had a few walks of about 1 hour. We think walking her has helped to calm her down by letting her run off some energy but we just want to make sure that we are not overdoing it,

Also, we were at our first lesson with the puppy school today and had had a lot of fun,

Thanks

Hi everyone

We finally managed to get a walk with Troy without getting wet, although Troy doesnt mind a bit it does ware a bit thin when we are dripping day after day. Any way I managed to get this quick snap inbetween chasing squirrels up trees then standing at the base yipping sounding like a very girly terrier. Sounds like Deedee has you just where she wants you Sandra Troy was the same but his favourite game was pulling out plugs I lost count of the number of times I was late for work as Troy sleeps in our room he really is spoilt rotten.

Puppies

Hope all the puppies are settling into their new homes, Dee Dee was on one yesterday, Milo went to his new home yesterday morning, and from then on she decided that seeing as she had lost all her playmates I would have to do, she never stopped all day !!! Narla played with her, I played with her she finally zonked out for about an hour at about 8 pm then awoke full of vigour ready to start again.
In the end we both tucked up in a quilt on the couch and went to sleep at about 1.30 a.m. I managed about five hours sleep.
She is having a little nap at the moment, so have just caught up with some emails and thrown some washing in the washer while I have the chance.
Will try and post some pictures later of the whirlwind, and I thought I had the quiet one !!!

Hope you are feeling better today Karen, and that the bruises are going down, I have all that still to come. Oh what joy !!!!

Munster Madness

Maggie and Elsa were in a hyper mood this morning. Think it might be cos we haven't been getting quite such long walks in with all the rain. First thing they did when I went out this morning was run at full pelt to the bottom of the garden, leap on to the trampoline, slide the entire length of it (it's wet and slippery) and fly off the other side - thankfully not hurt. Next thing was Elsa spotted a deer and was gone before I could call her back - managed to get Maggie back and started walking to a high point so I could see where she had gone. Maggie who heard Elsa in the distance couldn't bear it any longer and legged it in the direction of Elsa (knew I should have put her on the lead). I whistled and carried on walking and the next thing I know is Maggie charging towards me, unable to stop very well on the rain drenched mud she skidded into me and knocked me flying. Just had time to recover and looked up to see Elsa charging towards me but managed to get to safe ground before she did the same. Not long after this I got whacked in the head by a pigeon - not sure if the thing was attacking me or just plain stupid. Do pigeons attack? I was in the middle of a field and thought I'd walked into something, it was such a thud, but looked up to see a pigeon and nothing else.

They got a good hour of charging around this morning and I am muddy, wet and bruised so should see them through til we have to do it again this afternoon. Oh the joys of owning two monsters, I mean Munsters)lol

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLOTTE for yesterday. Hope you had a good day and lots of nice prezzies!

Ali, thanks for putting the picture of Maggie up yesterday.

Monday 23 November 2009

Thank you for Charlotte's birthday wishes, I didn't manage to get her to look today, I will tomorrow. She had a lovely day, some lovely presents and went to bed quite early exhausted. Birthdays for an 8 year old are a big event it seems. She has a disco party this Sunday shared with her best friend, so we have that to contend with yet.

Domino thought it was her birthday again today and wondered why Charlotte had all the presents.

Lovely photos of all the puppies, lovely to hear they are settling in their new homes. Love Jed on David's lap. Mazy's favourite spot is on our bed with her head on the pillow, not sure Richard agrees with that!!
Thanks for the nice comments Tessa, but the credit for the photos has to go to Suzanne Hall who came up here from Birmingham to take the photos, she did a wonderful job.
Ali the camera sounds superb and just what you need to take pictures of the dogs, my camera was just not fast enough no matter what setting I put it on, I just ended up with lots of blurs, looking forward to seeing lots more pictures of the Blitzan's in action, and we may be able to get a picture of mum Narla and daddy Logi and as many of the babies as possible at a show next season.

Belated Birthday Greetings to Domino hope you had a good birthday, and managed to get your chew back !!!

Sarah loved the photo of your David having a snooze with the dogs, just as well that armchair is as big as it is.
I have just done a ring round and all the puppies are settling into their new homes and the owners are delighted with them, most were travelling long distances yesterday but they have all promised to send photos or those that are members will put them on soon.
Narla is fine, she has been playing and rolling around the floor with her two remaining puppies, Milo goes to his new home tomorrow, but has been keeping Dee Dee company, certainly a lot quieter here today, but I know all of the puppies have gone to loving homes so although it is a little sad to only see two I know they were all very confident outgoing puppies and ready to move on to having one to one attention.
Happy Birthday Charlotte Very Best Wishes From

Sandra, Dave and the Fulaluv Gang !!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLOTTE
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO CHARLOTTE 8 YEARS OLD TODAY!!!!!!
lots of love from Ali and all the dogs especially Darcy! x x x x x

Sarah, Darcy is the same he is quite convinced he is a lap dog, I will try and get some photo's too!!! Not I have my early Christmas pressie, A posh Nikon Digital slr camera, thank you to Andrew and James! Going back to the lap dogs, I reckon the bigger they are the softer they are, having said that Tetra lay on Jamies lap all the way home from Earls court!!! The pair both slept didn't they Karen, not sure who snored the loudest though!!!

A peaceful snooze

With all this disgusting weather we are having at the moment thought I'd put up this nice cosy photo of one afternoon over the weekend spent in front of the fire. Jed gets jealous when Tess, who is a lap sized dog, gets up on Davids lap and decides he can too! Just aswell the chair is big enough. I'm getting fed up with washing off dogs after every walk, mind you the kitchen floor also gets a quick swill with the mop and has never been cleaner!!
