Congrats, condolences and catch up

Congrats to Ali, Tetra and Darcy along with Holly and Oscar. It all sounds amazing - looking at Dodger at the moment I wonder if he'll ever be able to stand still!

Also Ali huge condolences for your parents loss. Jack looks beautiful.

Karen you asked whether new puppy owners were tired yet? Neil and I certainly are. Dodger doesn't half keep us busy. Lie in's have disappeared off my radar completely, and he's so bouncy, when he's awake it's a balance of 'what you doing?' and 'what's this?' as we swap naughty things for allowed things.

This week we've been on our first little wander round the block. He looks a little drunk as he wanders and weaves from one side to the next constantly as he picks up smells. We've also had Kennel Cough vaccination and seen the vet. He's got a little rash on his tummy, which I gather is very common in puppies. Been told just to keep an eye on it as it's likely that he's rolled in or lay on something - so nothing serious. If it doesn't clear up in a few days then he'll get antibiotics.

Tomorrow I'm off work, so he's not off to puppy day care, instead we're going to spend the day together and hopefully if the weather's even vaguely ok we'll be heading up to a massive field just round the corner from us to see how he gets on running free as such. I'm both excited and nervous. I know you said he wouldn't run away Ali, but still makes me a little anxious. Taking his favourite toy and lots of treats - will make sure he stays away from sticks too.

Then a week on Saturday we're going to our first outdoor class which is very exciting. It's a mix of socialisation and training. It's run by the same people we're hoping to book with for puppy training from January. So we'll go along and see how he gets on and how they react to our little monster.

Having said that not sure little is the right word, he was weighed again at the vets and now weighs 11.5kg, so in just one week he's put on 2kg.

Interestingly Ali having been told off for taking him off puppy food, which has made for a calmer and much happier puppy, when we saw the vet this week he said he was in excellent condition, very healthy and how impressed he was with him. Complete opposite to last week when they scared me!

We're also hoping to get our first visit into the beach this weekend. Be interesting to see his reaction to the sand and the water. Will let you know and will take my camera as I imagine it'll be a good chance for some photos.
