Morning

Great video Sarah - looks like you all had a lot of fun!

Elspeth, that an awful story about the poor Ridgeback. Poor man, it must have been such a shock. I haven't seen many deer recently in Holton, not sure why as they used to be everywhere but I will be extra careful after reading that.

I have been really pleased with Maggie's recall away from pheasants. I have been using the ball as a reward instead of treats. The only time she gets the ball now is after I have whistled her to come back, she then gets one or two throws and then it goes back into my pocket. This has made it even more special for her and she is always keen to come back. Yesterday she was in full flight after a flock and I was trying to fumble around for my whiste which had got caught up in my coat so by the time I whistled her she was almost upon them and a long way away. On hearing the whistle though she slammed on her breaks and came straight back. I could have hugged her, in fact I did and gave her the ball.

I'm having problems at the moment getting her to hold the dummy in her mouth. She will give it to my hand but not sit first. If I ask her to sit she drops the dummy. Anyone any ideas?
