Maggie got second in her class obedience last night. Just a bit of fun really but enjoyable. There were seven altogether and Nellie (Maggie's whippet friend) got first. We had to heal off lead, a controlled retrieve, a smart recall, sit stay for one minute and down stay for 2 minutes. Nellie beat Maggie on the heal work, because although Maggie did stay close most of it was on two legs instead of one and on the retrieve she thrust the dummy at me instead of giving it calmly. The instructor said she was slightly over enthusiastic but would calm down with age although I may have to wait a long time!Rosie, congratulations on your forthcoming grandchild!
