Under the stairs.......

.....lives a hairy beast with big dark eyes and turned out feet. He comes out at night and steals you socks which he scurries away to his den. When approached he gathers them up and lets out a murmuring growl. Once your sock is taken it will never return, because the little beast has got them and won't give them back.
