Firstly, welcome to the blog Kat, hope you enjoy being with us.
Ali, I hope that the kennel cough has subsided now. There are some really lovely photos on here this week. Tor, I think Ludo looks absolutely superb, you must be so pleased with him, he is so handsome.
Ghillie is really poorly with his GI problems. I spent all day yesterday literally mopping up puddles of diarrhoea. Thought that the tree bark powder would help but no. I totally lost it last night having convinced myself that he must be on the verge of a total system collapse. The vet and Frank managed to calm me down and convince me he was not in danger of imminent demise. I am usually so level headed when the dogs are unwell, but this is so getting beyond me, I just can't get my head around it anymore. Despite all HE IS STILL BRIGHT AND NOT ACTING ILL. He is back at the vets this afternoon and they are going to refer him to the veterinary college for a biopsy of the intestines and other investigations. Re the article and email that you sent Ali, on behalf of that kind lady who had read about Ghillie's problems, incredibly it seems that they haven't tested for pancreatic insufficiency!!!! I realise that there are probably all sorts of conditions that will produce similar symptoms, but the things in that article really do suggest that it could be a possibility. Needless to say he will be having tpr tests done today.
It really doesn't matter anymore if he never goes near a show ring or a field trial in his life, I just want him fit and well and for this nightmare that we are all going through to be resolved. I am so sorry to let go like this. Once again thank-you all for your advice and support...it really means a lot to me. Please keep your fingers crossed that they find the cause and resolve it soon.
Huggzzz to all
Lindsey.
