Well done to all at Paignton today. Despite the awful weather we had a lovely time and I'm ever so proud of Mazy today, she behaved really well for me (or I thought so) and got herself 2nd place in puppy bitch. I also handled Ludo and despite having a few challenges with him, he got 2nd place in puppy dog too. Tor and Andy, thank you for trusting me with your dog especially as I'm a beginner too really. Ludo is very handsome. Well done to Darcy, Tetra, Gertie and Jed too, a lovely Blitzan gathering.
Back in 2000, Richard and I had got married earlier in the year and Richard reluctantly agreed that we could get a dog. When I was a child, we usually had Whippets and my grandparents always had German Shepherds, I wanted a different breed but didn't know what. So I borrowed some breed books from the library and the only dog that stood out was a Large Munsterlander. I visited Paignton Show that year and watched the Munsterlander judging and talked to a couple of owners about their dogs and decided that was the breed for us. Richard had never had a dog so left the decision up to me but we wanted a dog with lots of energy because we were quite active walkers and runners ourselves. We travelled to Nottingham to see a litter and chose Domino who we brought home a few weeks later. Richard soon realised it was nice to have a dog at home and we discussed getting another when Domino was about 8 years old and now we have Mazy too. Thank you Ali, she is a star.
