Hi all, gorgeous pictures on here, love Ludo opening his pressie as well as Milo and Merlin, and Evie looks so like Summer. All beautiful dogs. As for resolutions well I know I should have loads starting with health and things but wont bore you with those so have made a resolution to get out training with the babies more, Darcy is so clever and desperate to do more and to be honest so is Tetra so that's my main resolution, dog training classes and all sorts with them. Also to spend a little less time on the computer and a little more time on the family, especially with Mudlarks and a new business to get going. Not sure how many shows I will get to, but not planning on doing that many as in years gone by, would rather save the pennies and do something a little different with the gang. Oh and Andrew wants to teach Darcy to collect the eggs!!!!! Knowing Darcy he will do it too!!!
Summer is now two weeks and acting heavily pregnant, she is so funny and refuses to run on a walk now she just potters with me, she is eating like a horse or would be if I let her!! She also drapes over me as opposed to curling up, she is making heavy work of it, just imagine what she will be like at 7 weeks!!!! Darcy is still in love with her and has to sleep cuddling her, quite a romance going on!
Went sales shopping and James spent some of his birthday and Christmas money, he bought an external hard drive and some games for his various consoles. He got some real bargains too, oh yes he bought some head phones as well which I was very pleased with, life is a lot quieter all of a sudden, thank goodness!! He is now in his bedroom with Prima, Tetra and Tinker trying it all out.
Action shot in the frost

Murphy and Evie on a sunny frosty morning.

Who can the closest to the aga!!! Note the ever patient Murphy.

Evie in motion - determined to catch that seagull.

A very rare STILL picture of Evie.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas
Milo and Merlin are a great looking pair.
We have just got back from a few days in Cornwall. Have had some fabulous walks with the dogs - lovely big empty beaches! Finally got a few decent pictures of Evie (very hard as she hardly ever keeps still).

Resolutions?! Ummmmmmm

While I think of a resolution here's a few pics of Ludo at Christmas. Here he is getting the first whiff of his present .... ..... We gave it to him and he ran off to bed!!! 'Mine all mine!'
Eyes closed in pure elation!! Bless - treats galore inside!

Lovely pics of Milo too :)

New year resolutions

Anyone got any? Mine is going to be to try and stop Maggie and Elsa, particularly Maggie from barking with excitement every time I let her off the lead. She is driving anyone that lives in a 5 mile radius up the wall! I have tried to stop her before but it requires an awful lot of patience which I don't have. This time though I am determined - so we will see but if anyone knows any fast cures for this I'd love to hear them! She also barks when I do any training with her as she finds this exciting and I have to be very careful not to over praise her as it makes her worse. Sometimes if I ask her to sit and stay and then walk away from her I will turn and blow the whistle and she yips all the way back to me - not sure how to stop that one as I can't tell her off when she is coming to me - anyone any ideas???!!!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas - Maggie and Elsa had Christmas dinner with us and loved Frank's cooking! They also got a few presents, one being a rope/animal toy which there is not a lot left of - another was one of those Nina Ottosson toys - anyone tried them. I got them Casino where they have to find the treat in a little draw which is locked by a bone. I have only got to asking them to open the draw so far without locking it but Elsa is proving to be quite a genius and making Maggie look a bit slow.

Aly, Milo is gorgeous and so is his pal Merlin. They are a very handsome pair. We had a brief few days of snow but today has been horrible, raining all day and cold.

Glad you enjoyed your birthday James - what are you going to spend your money on?

Introducing Milo

Hi,

My name is Milo and I am son of Narla & Logi. I am living in Somerset with my new mum and dad (Aly & Robin) and my new brother Merlin who I just love to bits. I am very laid back and I am being a really, really good boy. Merlin and I are inseparable, he is very tolerant and is looking after me. We play all the time. I don't mind the frost but I really don't like the rain. It would be good if we had some snow here then perhaps I could have my picture taken in it having great fun like all the other Munsters on the Blog!
I love being warm, two of my favourite places are by the ray burn and the woodburner. Merlin has told me that when I am big with a long hairy coat I won't like it so much!. He has also told me that I will learn to love the mud and the water when I am bigger, but I am not sure whether to believe him.

I have been introduced to lots of people, one of my favourites is Roger the postman. Apparently Merlin is his favourite and he gets a chew every day. I am going to do my best to see if I can be one of his favourites too, then perhaps I will get a chew! I also have new friends - Millie the Border Terrier, Daisy the Spaniel and Moley Rat who is a 5 month old whippet. I like Moley as we play a lot but I cannot catch him when he runs off.

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Few more snow pics, getting Ceilidh to come back inside is proving to be a nightmare while the snow is here, she loves it too much and is intent on staying out rolling and playing for a s long as possible. She has a few toys to get from Santa tomorrow but alas she has been given the smelly chews early, trotters, ear, snouts the lot. She caught me just as I was coming in the door with them,. eyes popped out of her head as she started rubbing against the bags and licking her lips. How could I resist!! Hope everyone has a lovely day tomorrw! xxx

Merry Christmas

Gertie wishes all her brothers, sisters, mummy, daddy, grandparents, aunties, uncles and cousins a very happy Christmas.
Elspeth, just looked at your video - little Ceilidh is gorgeous and so tiny! I'm sure the two Ceilidh's will get on once the little one has calmed down.
Steph

Maier (Fulaluv Annalise)

Maier has mastered the Munster way of sitting!!

Maier has thoroughily enjoyed her first snow and has been playing out with Max and his friends. We had a decent amount of snow and loads more arrived on Tuesday which was great for Max as he, Maier and his friend went sledging yesterday - what fantastic fun! The snow was knee deep in places and Maier wore herself out bouncing round, digging and chasing snowballs (and sledges!). Its raining now so the snow won't last, which is a shame. The little video was taken just outside our house.

Happy Christmas to everyone - hope you all enjoy yourselves - and hope the dogs love opening all their presents. Maier has already found hers so we have had to re-hide them!!

Well had my cousin and his wife stopping by this morning with their 7week old Lab puppy, she has been named Ceilidh after my Ceilidh! Such a wee character. Big Ceilidh was brilliant, walked up to wee Ceilidh had a sniff and wiggled back to me as if to say I was gentle aren't I good mummy! Then wee Ceilidh got a lot more confident and was chasing big Ceilidh around the room!! The video was taken once little Ceilidh was starting to get a bit sleepy but it honestly was the funniest thing to watch, a full grown Munsterlander running from a puppy lab! Little Ceilidh does suit the name, similarities in personality to my Ceilidh are unreal. Got some snowy pics to put up too. Will post them in the morning as this will take a while to upload and I am ready to hit the pillow now. Hope everyone is enjoying their christmas period despite the disruptions!! It certainly looks like the dogs are so far anyway given all the pictures!!!

More snowy pictures of Oscar and Misty. Misty was trying to catch the snow balls that Holly was throwing for them but think they might have landed on Misty's head!! Great video of Narla and Dee Dee, I definitely need another Munster, that is my mission for next year to convince the other half we need another. Lovely picture of Maggie and Elsa its so nice when the dogs get on so well, Oscar and Misty are the best of friends and like you Karen its so nice to see them playing together and getting on so well, she just struggles keeping up with him bless her, but she tries her hardest. Got my calendars today, you have done a great job with them they are really good. Big thank you.

It's been melting a bit today so did manage to get out to Sainsbury's what a mistake that was, it was heaving, we had freezing rin as well so it's all like an ice rink, oh what fun!!! Anyway some pictures of my ot in the melting snow today.

Lovely picture Karen x x x
Oh and yes this message is from Lyn O'Connell. : He said some Lord near Oxford was breeding them - anyone know who that might be? "

He was Lord Burnham the President of The Large Munsterlander Club. Our current President is his daughter , The Hon. Mrs J. Farncombe and the family home is Hallbarn Estate where they so kindly allow us to hold our annual Working Test.
There is always someone in the know!!! Thanks Lynn.

Wishing Everyone a Very Happy Christmas!

From a very excited Maggie and Elsa xx

This mornings walk

Below is Elsa who was digging a hole, she was so determined to get what ever it was she got almost to Australia!

We had a bit more snow last night - Elsa and Maggie have been so excited by it - they have been playing together in the garden and last night when it was actually snowing Elsa kept looking up trying to eat it as it fell - they have been so funny to watch them together. It's lovely to see Maggie having so much fun with Elsa - it was exactly why I always wanted two and now they really are the best of friends and its touching to see how much they love each other.

Snow

Hi

Just to wish everyone a great christmas - Jack is loving the snow - he a Bella are having such fun - when we walked this morning we were the first in the fields so they had all the virgin snow to rush around in. I must admit had to buy him a little coat - he hasn't really got a lot of coat to speak of it was so cold he was really shivering when he stopped playing - especially as so mornings we are out and about really early - but everyone thinks he looks so cute and I must admit I think he loves it - well he doesn't take it off!!!

Mybest wishes to all

Sandra

THANK YOU

Ali for my lovely Calender and Newsletter. The calender is lovely - don't know how you had the time to do it but really appreciate you putting in the time and effort - Thank you!

John, does look like a Munster but could be a springer - I know a springer that looks very much like a small Munster, funny cos his owner says he always gets people asking if he is a munsterlander!

I met a chap on my walk a few days ago who was walking two lurchers. He stopped to say what lovely dogs my two Munsters were. He said he had his name down on a waiting list for one 35 years ago but after waiting over a year he gave up! I told him they were probably easier to get one now - not sure how many breeders there were in this country then. He said some Lord near Oxford was breeding them - anyone know who that might be?

BBC News

You may need to be quick to see this.....

On the BBC news website (news.bbc.co.uk) is a sequence of snowy pictures. I'm sure number 6 is a Munsterlander. Does anyone recognise him/her?

Monday, 21 December 2009

Hi folks just having a quick catch up as really not managing on this old lap top it is so frustrating, anyway hope you are all well and keeping warm, I got up this morning to it snowing on top of what we had the other day so I dashed off to stock up on Tarka's medication as last thing I needed to do was run out of that, as we drove off it's about 20 mins away the snow gradually turned to rain so I relaxed and carried on, went to the vets and then thought I would do the Butchers when James rang and said Mum I think you need to come home it's really bad here, so I started to head back only to find the roads plastered in snow, I got back crawling at 20 mph and just made it up our hill and along the drive, since then, 11am it just hasn't stopped snowing, we have feet of snow now so it's a good job I have stocked up!!! We are 900 ft above sea level here so thinks that's why we are coping it, I am sure there are many much worse off, but lets just say I am glad I am stocked up and sorted as it doesn't matter if it keeps on snowing.
Will get some more pictures tomorrow, glad to hear all the babies are enjoying the snow too, my to big babies love it!!! We have chicks hatching out for Mudlarks at the moment, 13 so far, so we are all snuggled up indoors, Darcy is besotted with the chicks, he has washed a few and sits beside the brooder watching them and being so gentle bless him, we certainly have a houseful at the moment, Dogs, Cats and chicks, there is just enough room for Andrew, James and me!!!
I have sent out some Christmas cards but I'm afraid the second batch is sat on my dresser waiting for me to get out, so if yours doesn't arrive before Christmas it will after, sorry.
Sandra, Narla is looking so well so soon after having her babies!!! Love the videos, Dee is beautiful too and Morgan of course. I am absolutely loving all of the photos and videos, I am awaiting more snow today and tomorrow before I get more pics, it has melted away a wee bit for now. Also I will get pics on wed and thurs when the 2 lab puppies are here to visit one after the other. Ceilidh will love it!!

Crufts

I have just booked my Train Ticket to Crufts, if anyone is thinking of going either as an Exhibitor or a Spectator it is worth looking out for Special offers.
Narla and I have got a return ticket for £21 which is great as you have none of the hassle of parking miles away, and a drop off ticket is £9, the station is right inside the NEC.

Up to two dogs can travel with a passenger free, I know it would not be suitable for everyone, but we have done it twice before with Narla and had no problems, last year we went by car and the walk back to the car park was a trek and all the buses were full and ques were a mile long.
Not sure if all the different rail companies will have deals on at the same time but for most 12 weeks before is the cheapest time to buy.
Dave will have to stay home this year and puppy sit Dee Dee and the other dogs, so at least I will be able to sit back and let the train take the strain on the way home, and not have to worry about driving through the traffic after a long day.

Hi everyone
Troy had his first taste of real snow today, blizzard conditions but he still needs a walk. Once off the lead he went crazy running round and round and scooping up the snow with his mouth. Didnt get any pics took us all our time to keep sight of him in the snow. We wish everyone and all the munsterlanders a merry Christmas and a great New Year.

Morgan, Narla & Dee in the snow.

Not sure what I did wrong but only one video published. Dee Dee is 12 weeks old today and the time has just flown by.

Morgan at 9 1/2 yrs does not normally play, but even she joined in today.

Narla is loving having another Munsterlander to play with, and just adores her daughter.

We have Snow

Not sure if this will work but took a couple of videos of Narla, Morgan & Dee Dee playing in the snow.

Gorgeous picture of Oscar, loving all the snow pictures, hope you get your PC sorted Ali.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and very Best Wishes for The New Year.

Cosmos in Connecticut snow

Here are some pics of Cosmos having his first experience of snow. He is having a great time in America and is adored by his owners and their other dogs. They have had a similar snowfall to ours (about six inches) and he is clearly loving the experience.

Oscar in the Snow

What great pictures of the dogs playing in the snow. Oscar is in his element with all the snow, went for a long walk through the field with the dogs today, did not take the camera in case I fell as it is very icy under the snow, we have have quite a bit of snow and I think they is more to come. Took a few pictures of Oscar in back garden, Misty decided it was better to lie in front of the fire cant blame the old girl. Hope you get your PC mended Ali!! Cant believe Oscar is 1 at the beginning of January, don't where the year has gone.
Hope everyone has a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Oh dear Ali, hope they are able to mend your PC. A tiny bit of snow here today, but mostly lots of ice and very slippery roads. Domino made snow angels last year, haven't seen Mazy do it yet though.

Lovely to see all the snowy photos and videos. I can't believe Mazy is coming up 11 months old, so won't be a puppy much longer.

Saturday, 19 December 2009

Hi folks sorry disaster hit yesterday, I switched on my PC and a strange sound emitted and then a message flashed on the screen FATAL ERROR so with that my computer died. Talk about frustrating and disaster. So Dug out the ancient lap top which is working for today who knows for tomorrow, so if I disappear you will know why, talk about bad timing as newsletter et all. Mine in under warranty so fingers crossed.
I think Ringo takes after grampy and his Aunty Summer, snow angels are their favorite!!! No more snow yet but boy isn't so cold and it's not disappeared at all. Had to do a dash to the vets so had to get out and I did manage it very slowly, but no one else has come past the lane including the postman. If forecast is right we will have more tomorrow and Tuesday but who knows?!?
Off to check emails, have rather a lot to go through so bear with me if you're waiting for a reply, thanks.

Munsters and snow

What is about Munsters and snow, while Stig and Harry love the snow Ringo goes absolutly nutty for it. He has been snow snorkelling and making munster snow angels, he rolled and rolled and rolled. I've never seen a dog so happy about the snow :)

Friday, 18 December 2009

So envious of all the lovely snowy pictures - we haven't had any here in Warwickshire just very cold and frosty. Can't believe the amount some of you had. Great pictures of all the dogs and puppies enjoying the snow. How sweet of Summer to be taking it easy in her condition (hopefully). Do you think she will retire to her bed for the last few weeks of pregnancy Ali? Darcy looked stunning against the snow.
Had to smile at the counter surfing antics of some of these Munsters. Evie is not to bad in that department but Murphy our Flat Coat has,is and probably always will be a terror at it. He has had whole joints of meat, whole cakes and even took a mouthful of pasta out of a boiling pan the once. We too hide things away in cuboards, in the microwave, oven etc and after 7 years can safely say it is now second nature to us all not to leave anything edible within reach. Very clever of Narla to open the fridge - bet she has had some great midnight feasts!
Hope everyone is looking forward to Christmas. Our house is full of excitement!
On the subject of work top stealing ...... we have seen Jed stand with his front paws on the sink watching us reverse out in the car but the other day I shouted for David to stop the car as he was standing bodily on the work top watching us go. I rushed back inside and told him off, he knew he'd done wrong. This explains how the other day the butter dish (with lid) was totally licked clean and not broken! Though he did scare us when he got the biscuit barrel (broken) off the wok top and ate the lot wrappers and all!!

Love all the snowy photos dont get much snow here in Devon but its bloody cold! Jed loves rolling in the frosty grass, which has me running over to stop him thinking that its fox poo that he's found!

Gertie & Kody

Gertie & Kody have great fun in my garden today- Kes wasn't too impressed though!

It was great seeing the photos of all the dogs in the snow- loved seeing little Izzy too

Snow at the Blitzan home

The snow is very powdery and is blowing around, we have big drifts and then other areas only just covered, the roads seem the worst bit, but it is lovely none the less, we are due more snow soon too. Going to the post office in the Tractor now!!!!

Tetra was most put out she couldn't get in the frozen water trough, I on the other hand was very pleased to get home with clean and nearly dry dogs!!!
Prima has a snow bath and enjoys some snow snorkelling Here come the girls!!!

Doggy snow angel from Summer, who is already refusing to run as she is sure she is in a delicate condition, honestly you would think she was 2 months not 2 days, I hope she is pregnant this time as she is certain, bless her.

Snow dive from Tetra
The flying Swedes!!!! Mr Darcy - the big boy now he's going to be a Daddy, (we hope!!)

Diva - What can I say, except you now know where Ceilidh gets it from!!
Tetra enjoying the view! The aboniable snowdog!!

The reason we can't get out, our lane!!! and below
