UPDATES

So sorry I haven't been on for a while but a certain little pup- or should I say, not so little!!!!! is running me ragged and I am totally 'knackered'. He is 14 weeks today and is an absolute sweetie never ceasing to amaze me with his attitude to life in general now he is out in the big wide world. Last weekend he met the sea for the first time when we took him to Irvine on the Ayrshire coast. Untypically munster he was not impressed even though Judo was half way to Arran, Ghillie would barely get his toes wet. Then again maybe he is just sensible...it was b***** freezing!!!! He studiously avoids mud, bogs etc....I think he is a changeling. On Sunday, we took him to Mugdock country park. He did show some natural instinct when I think he found a mouse or vole in the bracken,,,see piccies below. He got very excited so maybe all is not lost yet.
He has had a busy week. On Monday evening I took him to our private club as I had fallen on the ice and damaged my left hand so couldn't manage Jig. Wednesday, he started his puppy course at our main club. He is so within himself he astounds me. He had a wee flakey at the strange floors which lasted all of 10 seconds. Last night we went to our first ringcraft...with great trepidation as we have battle royals with standing and mouth checks etc. Different type of floor...wooden this time and another 10 second flakey then OK. He was so good..which was more than could be said for me who suddenly realised I had forgotten all I ever knew about ringcraft 40 years ago!! They said he was unbelievably confident for 13 weeks and when I said that I loved him to bits they said yes and there was a lot there to love!!! He was pulled out first in the dummy line-up and although I know it didn't mean anything as it was just pracice, I had a secret hope that it is a good omen for the future when we tackle the real thing. I have also come across the first conflict with the obedience training as I was told last night to avoid eye contact when moving him as he is trying to look up and watch me which of course is exactly what I want him to do in obedience. I am going to have to put my thinking cap on and be very careful how I proceed or I will have one very confused pup to say nothing of his handler. Hope you like the piccies of his first outdoor ventures.
So sorry about Summer and Zeb, all those who have been waiting must be so disappointed. I think they would have been beautiful pups. Ali, Diva looks absolutely beautiful....and huge!!!!! I have a feeling they will be big pups so I am going for 10, 6 boys and 4 girls though I hope there are more girls!!!!
Lovely piccies on here of everybody elses dogs as well. They seem to be enjoying the cold weather here and overseas a whole lot more than us!!!!
Hope everybody's New Year has started well. Can't wait for my first big shows when we all start meeting up.
