What a fright!!!

Went to work this morning and when I arrived I realised I had left my hand bag at home on the kitchen work surface, so quickly got the things we desperately need done done, and shot home to get it. Anything out of the ordinary that is left is investigated by Ceilidh, especially handbags! Arrived home and opened the door to smoke and the stench of burning plastic and Ceilidh belted outside looking a bit shaken! So instantly calmed her down and checked her over while Gregor did a quick house check.
She had been in my bag and had taken my mobile phone, obviously bitten the bit where the battery is and it had combusted! Melting the phone and a packet of wipes she has pulled out beside it. no flames as far as we saw but it looked like there had been.
So we piled her into the car because I refused to leave her after the fright she had had. I ended up dropping Gregor back at work and shooting to the vets, we had to get her weighed for wormer and flea/tick treatment today anyway but I took her in early and got the vet to have a good look over her and they were all laughing at the monkey and what she had done. (I was not ready to laugh about it but never mind) She was absolutely fine, just a bit wary of the vet after the last visit (it was her first time having her temperature taken) but once she realised the vet wanted a look and a cuddle she was all for it, kisses and all.
Got outside to make our way back and the car had a flat tyre! So back into the vets to ask if I could use their phone and if they had Gregors number, so they laughed some more at us. Got Gregor to come out in the work van to do the manly duty of changing the wheel. When he took it into the repair centre he found out we need 2 new front tyres (tread is too low, Gregor hadn't checked it because we only bought the car 3 months ago) and the wheels on the car only take one type and it is one of the most expensive makes of tyre, typical!!!
So after all that this morning Ceilidh is hogging the couch and snoring uncontrolably. Looking as if butter wouldn't melt. It was only an hour between leaving the house to getting back to find out what she had done too, not long at all. Thank god we did go back though! In that time she had also devoured her breakfast, a honeyed pig ear, lambs neck and part of a parma ham bone! Not just shredded the contents of my bag.
So I am now taking tomorrow off because the vet has said to keep a close eye on her just incase. Honestly, you would think we are useless owners the things she gets up to, but honestly we arent! She is only troublesome when she is very tired (and when my hand bag is about)so need to nip the baby waking her in the butt as soon as possible. And need to remember my bag in the future!

Molland is growing quickly sophie, such a little cutie!
Glad Domino is well Karen! And good on you for making your daughter wear the wet shoes! It will make her think about it next time, just the kind of thing my mum and dad did to me when I was young.
