Many many moons ago when I was a teenager. My bother and sister-in-law where breeding and showing cockers, I would go to the shows with them, if they fell on my day off from work. Anyway one year at welks, I walked into a tent (it was wet weather, what a surprise) and i saw these beautiful dogs in the ring, that just literally took my breath away. A quick look in the catalogue to see what breed they were, Large Munsterlander. I just thought one day.
After we had been married for about 2 or 3 years i was expecting Simon and i lost my old dog. Tony, who came from a family that never had any pets, not like me who came from a family with dogs etc. Said that i could have another dog (like he could stop me) but wanted something bigger!!
Well i knew just the breed. I quickly went and found that old catalogue and an old dog world annual. Made a few phone calls and by the end of the week had found a litter with a bitch available in it. Booked a visit for when this pup was 4 weeks.
We went to meet the litter and got passed by the breeder who said yes we could have one, left a deposit , just had to wait another 4 & 1/2 weeks.
Only one problem the rest of the money, also needed a pram, oh to hell with the pram, i wanted my puppy and the puppy won.
Five weeks after picking up Carla, Simon arrived and a pram !!!
