New Topic.....

Good morning. lovely sunny morning here so far, although I hear the forecast for Paignton is rain all day. :-(
I have another topic for you:
What made you first decide on having your first Munsterlander?
For me many years ago Andrew and I were newly weds and when we first got together I was breeding, working and showing my Border Collies, I had a run of bad luck and lost my breeding line, due to Pyo's and infertility, we decided to look around and change breeds as I couldn't find another Collie to buy in and start again, ( I was being to critical as was so upset to have Snoopy Spayed). Anyway Andrew rather fell in love with the Landseer Newfoundland, and although I liked them I knew they weren't for me, too much slobber and I was really into agility and couldn't see I Newfie coping too well with that. I have always loved Munsters since I first judged some in an AVNSC class, and then I met a young Bromus, litter brother to Ch Ghyllbeck Holcus and fell in love. He used to come to the hospital with me and my Collies PAT dog visiting. So I dragged Andrew to Crufts and went straight to the Munster ring. There I met Rita Waters who told us there were only two litters about, one in Scotland and one in Penzance, Cornwall. Andrew was hooked too so we went home and rang Jill Orme who was in Cornwall, (we were in Devon at the time) We drove down and she only had two bitches, I sat on the floor and one came to me and that was it love at first sight. She came home with us 4 weeks later!!! The rest as they say is history!!
Looking forward to hearing your stories, pictures are also welcome. I will try and find some old puppy ones.
Tessa nice to have you back, glad you had a lovely time and good weather although a little jealous of that too!!!! I am a lot better thankyou Swine Flu gone and other problems under control!!! Hope Evie picks up again, bless her Grandad sends his love.
