Thanks Sandra. Evie has recovered very well from her op and is full of beans. I had shut our field gate so she couldn't go off tearing around the field and the next thing I saw was her squeezing underneath it and disappearing off up the hill - so much for restricted exercise. Our vets do not prescribe them with painkillers to take home for the reasons you said Sandra so I think Evie must have an amazing pain threshold as she doesn't even seem to have noticed her wound. She also had dissolvable sutures put in so there is nothing to nibble at or to be removed in a weeks time. Wonderful how quick they bounce back - makes you wonder how much of pain is psychological doesn't it.
