WHAT A FRIGHT!!!
Frank took Maggie out for a long walk on his own this morning as I have to get Lydia ready for her drama performance in town. Got a phone call 40 mins after he had left from Frank to say Maggie had run off after a deer 10 mins ago and he couldn't find her. I told him to wait where he was and ring me as soon as she came back but as the minutes passed and still no phone call I felt sick, my legs turned to gelly and I was on the verge of tears. I went out and opened the back gate to the field and the front gate just in case she came home on her own. He was on the other side of Holton Woods though and wasn't sure if she would be able to find her way home. Half an hour after the phone call Maggie came rushing through the back gate without Frank! Delighted to be home she jumped up at me and licked me all over and I - well I just was so happy to see her and what a clever girl find her way home! Luckily where we live she doesn't need to go on a road. I have rang Frank who is now walking back on his own - poor thing had stopped some walkers he saw to ask them and was really frightened! Can't stop hugging Maggie so happy she is home again - What a fright! Don't know what I'd do without her. Think she must have run all the way home - she looks exhausted.
