Sorry for the length of this video but it was too good not to. Please put the sound on, she blows bubbles and everything. After this puddle she found some deer poo and thought that would be fun to roll in after learning the technique from her uncle Logi at Stafford. Thankfully just before the car park there was a river and she took a big swim and play in there to clean off. (Richmond Park)
She was fantastic in London, took the traffic and business in her stride, only took a lunge at one man (when I say lunge I mean a small jump to say hello I am friendly) he had seen her and made a funny noise and jumped away which is when she thought she would say hello, sorry excuse for a man. This morning we went to a place near Great Windsor Park and she did the exact same only muddier. I will post a pic and video in a minute of that. Again thank goodness for rivers!
We have a play date tomorrow with Brodie, one of the new pups. They live so close to us its fantastic. Ceilidh will get some practice for when we get her a little brother and sister.
Your advice for new puppy owners is great Ali, we found that no matter what books and articles we read you are just not prepared to cope with such intelligent pups. They do learn so quickly, persistance is really the key. Even if you think you are getting no where. We had real problems with Ceilidh for the first couple of weeks. My arms ended up in such a state that I looked as if I had self harmed. That was just from turning her upside down and her wiggling, scratching and biting. We kept going with that method though and now, by the time we have had to turn her over 3 times she has had enough of trying to be bad. When I say 3 times I mean that she calms down each time knowing full well that is what we want her to do before we let her go. Then when we let her away she starts being bad again. The biting does stop. They will still want to mouth you because they love you but just make sure they know how hard!!!!
Thank you Ali for phoning me to let me know about Leah, so so happy that she is well. Also good to hear that Logi will be getting back to normal, he was completely out of sorts, bless him.
I am going food shopping tomorrow so I think I will give that Liver bread a shot. That way I will have a fantastic treat for the clicker training for her mouth that Sophie suggested at the show(Diva puppy shady's new owner). I will be working extra hard on her this week to get us both a bit more confident for SKC next weekend. Looking for open shows in our area too so we can get more practice at those. Should be good fun.
What date was Paigton changed to again? I know it was August but what day? Really looking forward to that weekend!!!
