Rain, Rain, Rain!

I finally managed to take Maggie out at 2.30 this afternoon when the rain lessened. Everywhere was completely flooded. The slow running brook that I usually cross which as 3 stepping stone accross was more like a fast flowing river and the stepping stones were nowhere to be seen! I decided against trying to cross it even though Maggie went across back and forth several times as if to tell me it was easy! So I had to turn back and go along another foot path only to be stopped by a rape field where it had blown over the foot path and was too wet to push through. There is a greyhound rescue centre about a mile (as the crow flies) from us and when the wind is in the right direction you can hear all the dogs barking. When Maggie hears or sees other dogs she tends to stick by me - not sure if this is because she is being protective or that she is a bit insecure so that was a third direction I took and had to turn back! She loved it though and ran full pelt through all the floods - came back completely drenched and very hungry! Apparently there are floods in a neighbouring village and the fire brigade have arrived too. Hope the weather improved tomorrow!

Lovely pictures of Ilka and Ceilidh.
