Ali - so sorry to hear about the unwarranted attack. I agree absolutely with what the others have said. The dog warden and/or police must be informed. Not only has this dog achieved what it wanted and will now be feeling pretty powerful and even more territorial but it knows that there are other dogs there as well - notwithstanding the very real danger to James. As has already been said the dog really should be put down. Sadly it is the dog that will pay for the faults of its owners.
Surely your run of bad luck must now be at an end.
