Sue, I'm so sorry to hear about your cat that has gone missing. It must be horrible when you don't know what happened. Was he an old cat? My mother's elderly cat walked off one morning last year and never returned, he wasn't very well and I think he went off to die. We spent weeks looking for him and asking around but never did find him. I hope you manage to get to Wales on Saturday to pick up your new kitten, the weather forecast isn't looking great though so drive carefully.

As for Darcy's snow balls - incredible - how does he walk with that lot. Seems like Bosco gets them too Sue. Elsa and Maggie haven't collected anything like the ones on Darcy's chest but bitches don't have as much hair for it to cling to. They have had a few though and what looks particularly painful icy balls between their tows. We have them both sit in the kitchen when the come in pulling them all out. Because they are small they melt when you hold them and fall out but it does make your hands cold!

Elsa cut her pad yesterday - goodness knows what on, but she was going slightly crazy running around in excitement when she saw the snow and you can't see what is under it. She is feeling sorry for herself now. I had to take her to the vets in the end as I couldn't stop it bleeding. They glued it and wrapped it up and today with a boot over the top of her bandage I let her have a free play in snow and she loved it. The boot kept the dressing dry and so far no sign of it bleeding again so everyone happy. She has already learnt that having your foot wrapped up in a bandage means more cuddles and if she sits next to you and you ignore her she puts her bandage up to your face to remind you she is wounded and we all say 'oh poor Elsa's paw' and she squirms with delight)lol

There have been some lovely snow pictures on here in the last few days. Ali that's a lovely picture of Summer. Munsters are very photogenic in the snow I think - that black such a stark contrast with the white background.

Did anyone see Horizon on BBC2 last night about dogs? Great programme and worth seeing it if you missed it.
