In answer to your question no it's not too much protein and if anything the more meat she has the better her coat should be as the oils in it will help no end. I would say it's all to do with her casting her baby fluffy coat and growing her puppy coat in which will also bring in her colouring too. Is she scurfy at all?

Bree is a grazer if given the chance and she is fast learning that doesn't work when the big dogs are only too happy to hoover up any left food! Sounds like Minden is being very tolerant of her baby niece!!!
