I think it helps Elspeth having another dog around. When we had Maggie she slept in her crate in the kitchen next to Tilly who kept her company - never heard a peep out of her! When you get your next one you may find it easier. A dog's cry is like a babys' it's meant to get you in the heart so that you take action quickly LOL! Loving all these pictures of puppies - it's the smell that I love though! Looking foward to more puppy pictures!
