Oh dear Karen, that's awful. Tricky one when it's your next door neighbour but I think I would be inclined to speak to the owner before going to the dog warden. Don't know if you read about Maggie and the little dog that kept attacking her on the Munster forum, but this kept running out accross the road at her with it's hackles up and barking at her and in the end I got so cross with it worrying Maggie that I kicked it accross the road, and ran after it up it's drive with Maggie in tow. The next day I spoke to the owner and told him what I had done. I also gave him the handful of stones I had picked up that I was intending on throwing at it should he come after her again! He was very understanding actually and told me the electric fence that normally keeps him in was not working. I haven't had the problem since though. It's always worth talking sensitvely to the owner first as sometimes they are unaware of what is going on, although in your case if the owner pulled the dog off Jetta they obviously do, but you can still voice your concerns to them. If they still don't do anything about it then you could speak to the dog warden to see what they suggest. Good luck! Hope you had a good anniversary dinner yesterday! Glad Domino was good on her walk today.
Elspeth, you poor thing. Hope your hand gets better soon. You can get some great hand and wrist supports from a chemist or sports shop. Might help to give it a bit of support, but I know it must be a nightmare when you've got a large energetic dog at the end of a lead. Maggie always gets excited when Frank runs too lol! Thinks it's something she doesn't see often!
There is a chap down the road from us that has two very obedient working labradors. When Maggie was younger I was waiting at the bus stop for my daughter to come home and he was there waiting for his son. Maggie jumped up at him and he really shouted at her. I was really cross because she is quite sensitive and only needed a firm off for her to listen there was no need to bellow it out - poor thing practically sank to the ground. He then had the balls to start telling me how I should control her! She was infact being quite good for an excitable young pup!
Another glorious day here and I'm stuck inside working. I hope it continues.
