Lovely to see the puppies, can't believe Murphy is now 6 months old! He really is a fantastic dog and we took him on his first holiday 2 weeks ago to Dorset with friends and he thoroughly enjoyed it. We took him to a Point to Point while we were down there and he behaved impeccably. He really stood out amongst all the labs, lurchers and terriers and we had people coming up to us asking questions and saying what a good choice we had made, so we were really chuffed.
We had some lovely walks and he loved chasing the seagulls on the beach, in fact, he is obsessed with birds and will sit in the garden for ages just watching.
His training is going very well and he was in the advanced class last week as there weren't as many dogs as normal, and actually didn't do too bad at all, much to my relief. Putting into practise everything we learn when we are out and about is another thing, but hopefully with perseverence it should click!!
One of his only vices is stealing items from under our nose and running away (normally clothing) as you can see from one of the photos. I think he loves the chase!
Also, he loves our company and still isn't keen on being left, but he's so big it's easy to forget he's still young and he's certainly pleased to see us when we get back. He loves to mouth our wrists, so all our sleeves are soggy at the ends.
Now we've had a couple of sunny days (and hopefully the bad weather is finally behind us) looking forward to spending more time in the garden with him and putting in a bit more training practise.
It would be lovely to find out how Murphy's brothers and sisters are doing. Saw the photo of Cosmos, and although he's darker, I can see the resemblance.
