These pictures were taken by a friend of mine yesterday, could not resist putting this one on of Misty bless her.

Hi all it has been lovely here lots of sunny weather. Joanne you are so lucky having a dog beach on your doorstep I am very envious of you. What is Tetra like with the baths Ali, she is a little character that girl. Karen I like the picture of Elsa trying to have a nap with one eye open, they don't like to miss a thing.

Numbers?

Who moi????
I don't know what you mean Joanne....... I only have, Tarka, Logi, Zeta, Maddie, Fancy, Diva, Summer, Prima, Tetra and Darcy, and who knows who when Prima has her babies........
Gorgeous pictures again, and I may well head out, may come with Judith though and leave Andrew to dog sit!!!! We will get the house built and then we can see.....

Karen, Elsa is stunning, she is looking so grown up and beautiful. Can't wait to see her on Saturday.

Elsa

Karen, Elsa has such a beautiful face, and I love all the black, she is a real beauty! it's no wonder some of you people, (i'm not naming names), have so many!
Joanne

Ali, it's been 30 degrees Celsius for the last week which is around 90 degrees F, so yes very warm, and I love it. Well Ali get a couple plane tickets and come stay with us, you are very welcome. Andy will be home on Friday, so we are hoping it stays hot for him. Yes the dog beach is an off leash park open year round for us doggie people.
Duke is trying his best to catch a duck, he whines while he swims he gets so excited, and I have to call him back or he would still be swimming after them!

Anyone for frisbie?

Trying to sleep but..

always best to keep one eye open when lying in the sun, even if your really tired and it's very hard - you never know what you might miss out on!

Lovely pictures Joanne. What a lovely place to be able to take the dogs - especially if it's hot like it is here at the moment. Are you allowed on that beech with dogs all year round? You're very lucky having it.

I will try and take some pictures of Maggie and Elsa this afternoon in the garden. They are both asleep at the moment. They normally come to life after dinner in the evening when it's cooler. Last night had a mad fit around the garden - they slept well last night!

Canada

What a beautiful place Joanne, and all the dogs look like they are having a wonderful time. Wish we were nearer my lot would love it there!!!! Duke and Duchess are looking very well too. Are you having hot weather there too? It's been lovely and warm here, so hot I caught the sun yesterday!!! It is quite unusual to be this hot this early in the summer, is it the same for you over there?
Thanks for sharing your pictures. I'm even more envious now and James is more determined to get us to emigrate to Canada!!!!!

Dog Beach

Here are a few pictures of Duke and Duchess and Elly May at the dog beach yesterday, we had another very warm day, the dogs really enjoyed themselves. The lake is about 3 miles from our house so very convenient.

James has dug out an old bath, which the dogs are putting to great use, the only trouble is they get wet and then think it's funny to dry off on top of me!!!! Another hitch is Tetra now gets into our bath indoors and has learnt to turn the taps on, she then runs up and down in the bath, getting very soggy!!!
Other picture is of someone who has been caught out digging in the garden, he tried to deny it but something gave him away!!!!!

Scenery and Daily Dog

Just a scenery pic here - but goes with saying - Dog of the Day has been updated - please go to http://www.photos.thelargemunsterlander.com/ I confess, not a very clear pic of the dogs, but a lovely "uplifting" pic - as is the one above? We have had some "technical issues" but all fixed now.....
News of the Goodie bags on http://www.news.thelargemunsterlander.com/ sorry a bit of a mix up but with me and my dog sick - things are not running smoothly - at the moment we cannot do P&P., or make "promises" just have to do the best we can - and wait and see.............. I hope you can all understand - and - sure we all put our dogs "rest and recuperation" first!!!!

what a shame you arent bringing Maggie with you Karen, Kaia and I were looking forward to meeting up with you again. Can't wait to meet the puppies though and they can all meet my big oaf of a puppy!
It is Lokis 1st birthday on the day of the show so we will be having a little munster party -
We're staying at Malvern on the way up to the show because it's a 4.5 hour drive for us, so not sure what time we will get there, depends how swift we are getting the tent down. I hope it's dry that night, I don't do wet camping very well. I can't wait to meet everyone else too, Mazy will be so excited.

Karen, I'm leaving Domino home too, she wouldn't enjoy it. Hopefully Mazy will be fine in the car, she is on a two hour journey and it'll be two of those to get there.
Karen I'm really looking forward to seeing all (well nearly) Elsa's litter mates again. I have decided not to bring Maggie. I am taking her out on Sunday so it will be Elsa's day on Saturday and Maggie's on Sunday)lol. She would rather stay at home with Frank I think and go for a nice walk. I'm just hoping Elsa travels OK in the car without Maggie as she is used to having Maggie there and she has never been on her own for more than half an hour in the car. It's at least two hours drive for me. Do you think I should stop on the way for a break? What time are you aiming to be there?

Been such a lovely day today and decided to give up working at lunch time and have been mellowing in the garden this afternoon then I took the 'girls' out for walk and to have a splash around in the brook which they loved. It's only shallow but Elsa ran up and down it and managed to get soaked!
Lovely to see a pic of Gertie, I was wondering about her. Sorry she's had a couple of problems but that she's OK now. Hope to see you at the LMC show, we are bringing Mazy. We took her to Bath and West Show yesterday and was an absolute star, nothing bothered her, apart from trying to pick up any rubbish/food that people had dropped on the floor.

Poor Hudson, I too have used Benylin, the dry cough one for Domino when she had a respiratory infection. The vet said they just have to get over it, just like us with a cold/cough.

Karen, I can't wait to see Elsa too, are you bringing Maggie to the show as well?

Hope you can get some photos of your dogs at the beach Joanne. Are the dogs allowed in your pool, or do they jump in when you're not looking?

Beautiful weather here today, so we're just relaxing in the garden trying to recover from our trip out yesterday.

Thanks for the message about the corn on the cob - I had no idea. Luckily Elsa was only interested in carrying it and didn't try to eat it and it went in the bin when we got home. Many thanks though.

Catch up.

Quick pop in as busy here being half term week. Gertie is looking lovely Kathy, a really chunky baby, you can certainly see that Gertie and Tetra are sisters!!

Joanne, thank you, and I always love to see your photo's, the more the better.
Zoe, sorry to hear Hudson is unwell, I have to say on the odd occasion mine have had a throat infection or the dreaded kennel cough I use Bennilyn, it seems to sooth their throats and stop the coughing. Hope he feels better really soon.
I received an email for Gillian, who was concerned about Elsa and her corn on the cob, Gillian had a nasty fright with one, this is what she wrote: Just read Karen’s post on your blog about Elsa carrying a corn on the cob and it make my stomach turn. Corn on the Cob husks can be very dangerous to dogs as if eaten can cause blockages in the gut that are particularly hard to spot on X-rays. We nearly lost our Cocker Spaniel to a husk, he was in Glasgow vet school for many weeks and ran up a huge bill but he was worth it. I would hate for anyone else to fall victim to such a seemingly innocent looking item.
Many thanks Gill for alerting us to this potential problem I am sure we will all avoid Corn on the cobs now.

sorry not been in touch for a while- had some problems with food intolerance and an infection (caught some weeks after getting her), which now seem to be under control- still have to be careful, but Gertie has a lovely shine on her coat and is full of beans! Picture taken when she became four months old...
glad to see everyone seems to be happy with their pups- can't believe how quickly they have grown...
Kathy
Lovely picture Ali of Diva and Mr. Darcy having a cuddle, Oscar always wants to be in the same bed as Misty think we will have to get a bigger bed as he ends up layed on her back. Nice to here from you Joanne that is something I want to do this summer take the dogs to the beach think they would love it. Karen cant believe how big Elsa is now, standing at the side of Maggie will not be long before they are the same size, Oscar is now taller then Misty. Hope Hudson gets better soon, and it does make a change to see a Munsterlander on a advertisment leaflet.

Leaflet

Yes we do still have the leaflet if you send me her address i can post it, think you have my email address Elle? but if not i have yours so i could email you first

the leaflet and pic

......... is Dyl, Sh. Ch. Blitzan Ragamuffin - owned by Sharon - he did a bit of "film work" and that ad., if you have a copy of the leaflet I know Sharon was looking for one recently...........

Hudson bad throat

Took Hudson to the vets yesterday, he has developed a cough, we were worried it might be Kennel cough but Vet said its not and thinks its a throat infection, Poor man feels very sorry for himself, He has antibiotics for it now though so hopefuly in a few days it will improve. Anyway in the waiting room Matt picked up a leaflet as it appears to have a picture of a Munsterlander on it, its not often that you see Munsterlanders on leaflets and things is it so we thought we'd put the picture up on here, It was a Hills Science Diet leaflet.
Joanne would love to see pictures of Dogs on the Beach, We haven't taken Hudson to the beach yet but are hoping to soon. Lovely Shots of Oscar Mandy, if only Hudson would sit still long enough! Darcy and Mum look very cue snuggled up together!

Morning

Weather horrible yesterday but things are going to improve and we are going to get a hot weekend I think. Elsa picked up a half eaten corn on the cob today (typical Elsa) She then carried it for most of the walk, dropped it to have a dip in the brook, found it on the way home and carried it back! She just loves having something in her mouth.

Joanne - I'd love to see some pics of your dogs on the beach too. It does sound lovely.

Great picture of Darcy and mum Ali. And great pictures of Oscar Mandy too - he is very photogenic.

Mr Darcy and Mum cuddle up

A houseful of beds and Darcy want to share with his Mum, ah bless!!!!!

Another "catch up"

Time has just been flying, the weather here in Kelowna has been very warm and we have been spending a lot of time at the dog beach, the dogs love swim on these hot days and i figure it will keep the fur out of our pool if they can go int to lake instead.
Mandy, Oscar is a very handsome boy, looks really sweet. Logi, he is quite the player, he'll sleep with anyone. hehehehe what a mild mannered guy! I love him Ali! I think the video of Ceilidh and Paddy in the long grass is priceless, what fun! Karen, Elsa has such a sweet face, the puppies are all so grown up already, I can't believe it, and Ali the pictures of the three boys so sweet, they look so content. Ali, it's breeders like you that breed for quality and disposition that make people like us very happy with our dogs. Your puppies all seem to be sound, happy, well adjusted, outstanding and absolutely beautiful. A big thank you all the way from Canada!
Joanne

WELL DONE CAROL & TULLY

Elspeth Oscar is the same he like to rap his legs around your neck, he is such a character. We are just off out for a walk it is very windy here today but at least the sun is out.
CONGRATULATIONS TO CAROL AND TULLY

Oscar certainly is posing in those pictures but being so handsome I cannot blame him! If you have got it then flaunt it! As for affection, I got home at half 9 from a late shift in hospital, mum had been home all afternoon and evening, I dont know what was going through Ceilidhs head when i pulled up but the second I opened the door she was literally up around my neck, by the time I got to the sofa she was on my head kissing every last bit of my face neck, arms, hands, absolutely everywhere! I have never had a welcome home quite like it! bless her soul, I think she must have known I needed cheering up after a day of yucky messes. Now after a good play she has plonked herself down on her bed content with my slipper tucked under her chin. I think it is time to call it a day. Hope everyone is well and I must say, if Theo likes to water gardens can you send him up here John? Fantastic pictures!
As for swapping dogs!!! Mortified that people have so little emotion. I could never have given Ceilidh up, not when I first knew it was her I was having, not now, not ever!!! That behaviour is disgusting and should not be allowed. Right, off to bed

Posing for the camera

Hi all its been a lovely day here, although looking out of the window now they are a lot of dark clouds think we could be in for a storm, here are some picture of Oscar posing in the garden for the camera earlier today!! Ali love the picture of Logi with lamb how cute, Oscar is a big softy with my Mum's Cat cant believe how well he has taken to her, but must admit he is a very cuddly and loving boy and just wants to sit on your knee all the time and give you sloppy kisses, did not realise these Munsters are so affectionate!!
Karen glad you had a lovely day with Maggie doing the test and it must have been nice to take Elsa along as well to watch Maggie hard at work. John the picture of Theo with the watering can is really good.
No worries Sarah I hadn;t known you were part of that discussion, but I know some of the info given was incorrect, hope what I said made it clear.
thanks for clarifiying that point Ali - it seems i completely unintentionally opened a can of worms around the subject in the other forum. Atleast it got the word out i guess so everyone is now informed as to the new guidline as i for one didnt realise it had come into effect.
Very lovely photos on here again :D

Health tests and LMC puppy register.

Hips and Elbows, I have been asked if you're breeding from an older bitch to go on the LMC puppy register do they need to be elbow scored and hip scored, yes they do need to be hip scored but not elbow scored. Elbow scoring only came in January 2009 and only applies to new breeding dogs. So for instance Tetra and Darcy will have to have elbows done but if Logi was used as he is now 8 years old he does not need elbows doing, he does after all have a good record from all his children and his own soundness. Same with Diva she didn't need to be elbow scored either.
As from 2010 the KC insists that all dogs will need to be micro chipped to have their Elbows and hips scored and eyes, basically all health tests, this will ensure all dogs are done honestly.

Working test

We are back early as decided to come home when they stopped for lunch. Lydia had had enough and Elsa was pretty tired although thoroughly enjoyed her day saying hello to everyone. I managed to do three out of the four tests but didn't do very well.

The hunting test was first and when I let Maggie off she turned to face me and started yipping - so immediate points lost. She did get her nose to the ground though and did a great stop and recall to whistle when asked.

Next was the memory retrieve which I knew I would have problems with. I sent Maggie off in the direction it was but half way she stopped, looked at me and came back. I sent her off again and the instructor told me to give her some help so I walked part of the way down with her. She did eventually find it and then came back and threw it at me so not a great hand over either.

Finally the water retrieve - one which I had hoped she would do well in, but she is so keen and went in after the dummy before I had given her the command. She went straight to it though and bought it back.

After that we decided to call it a day. But it was great experience and I just need a lot more practice I think!

All three instructors for the different tests were really lovely though and very understanding and helpful. It was a beautiful setting too. I am looking forward to hearing how Jo did with Gus and Sue with Bosco.
Have done today's photo, Saturday we had Pointing, yesterday hunting today is a retrieving one!! www.photos.thelargemunsterlander.com

Mandy, Oscar is so sweet and such a lovely boy, he must take after Grampy Logi with his love of cats or lambs for that matter!!!

Good luck to Karen and Maggie today, enjoy and hope you do well and enjoy it.

John love the pictures of gardening Theo, he is such a star!!!

There has been some great photo's on here from everyone recently.

Lynn I still can't beleive the attitude of freecyle swapping puppies, it's so immoral. Thanks again for the info.

Karen and Maggie

Good luck at the working test tomorrow!
Great pictures on here - Bailey seems to have settled in well with his siblings. Must be nice for Diva to see him again. It is a lovely head shot of Tetra - also like the one of her and Maddie.

John - Theo is being very helpful then in the garden - what a clever boy!

Love pictures of Oscar Mandy.

The weather has certainly been great today and lovely to see everyone taking pictures. I'm off to Cornbury Park Working Test tomorrow with Maggie and Elsa so hope it continues. Not entering Elsa though)lol she is just coming to watch and learn.

Lynn - that is awful. I have heard of this, not swapping animals though. I thought it a good idea - recycling things that would only go into land fill but I certainly don't think that should include animals. It is sad that people can think so little of a puppy's life.

Gardening Guru

After lounging around in the sun, Theo decided the garden needed watering - or did he just want to be chased?

Love the photos on the blog. Great head shot of Tetra.

Forget about this one!!

We are looking after my parents cat as they are on Holiday, the cat had been in the house 10 minutes and they were best of friends.
We must have cross posts Ali, your last lot of pictures are lovely, it so nice when we have sunny weather why cant it be like it all the time.

Enjoying the very hot sunshine today

Diva and two of her sons The boys, Bailey with my shoe!!!

Princess Tetra
Bailey

Brother and sister

Where Did Maddie appear from?!?

Elspeth in the previous pictures Bailey had a beef hide cigar in his mouth.
Looking forward to everyones photos, it's been so hot today I now look like a lobster!!!!!
Had an email from Lynn O' Connell who thought we would appreciate the info, thanks Lynn it's appalling how people think of dogs as commodities even if they are exchanged free, it's no right is it. Thanks Lynn.

Swapcycle Scotland
Anybody heard of this Yahoo group? Basically, it sounds a great idea as you can swap anything you have for anything anyone else has - only criteria is that they have similar values. It seemed a good additional resource to freecycle for keeping stuff out of landfill sites. I joined the group on that premise. However, the moderator has just replied to my question asking if they allow swapping animals since there was an email from a member to swap a puppy. He said they are happy to allow swapping of any live animal of similar values so I have left this group on a matter of principle. Just a heads up for any similar group any of you might want to join.
I'm sure this must go on all over the UK - interested to hear your thoughts and experiences please.

Oscar, Misty & Henry

Tried to get them to sit all together
Oscar trying to find the othersHe has seen a bird but has not chased it!!!!

Back home
Been a lovely day here went for a nice walk this morning with the dogs and my friend with her lab Henry and remembered my camera although pictures not that good!!

Bailey looks like he has a cigar in his mouth its a really good picture of the three of them, Karen Mazy is looking so cute and boy has she grown, love Ceilidh flying ears I like that picture, Karen you are right it is very hard getting them to stand still for the pictures and the grass is so long we struggle seeing where they were!! Hope you all have a nice bank holiday.
What on earth is in Baileys mouth in those pics? Is it a sausage? They look as if they have never left eachother dont they? Did Diva protect him in the initial hellos like she did with Ceilidh? Though Ceilidh was a bit older when we visited first time.
They are such lovely photos, I certainly see both Diva and Leah in the bottom pic of Tetra.
Dont get me wrong, I love the pic, just noth best facial expression, she looks a bit mouthy but it is only from bounding about like she was, ears mouth tail, everything was flying! Off to the woods this afternoon so will hopefully get some more snaps to pop up, though they will probably all be with her nose to the ground. Hoep everyone is having a good weekend.

Figurine

Alli the figurine is wonderful, if you could find that would be great,

some more lovely pictures today

Bailey comes for his half term holiday!!!

The three taken about 5 minutes ago, it's as though they have never been apart!!!! Oh and yes Bailey (Rudolf) is still a chubby baby!! Left to right: Tetra, Darcy and Big Baby Bailey
Tetra - not the most flattering angle!

My boy - as handsome as ever

Little Miss watches and rests in the shade of their playhouse, aka the garden shed!

Karens Mazy is so beautiful and so is Elsa, they are growing up quick though aren't they? Tetra was sitting on the sofa next to Andrew and I thought she looked old enough to be in the show ring. The time is flying. Elspeth the photo of baby Ceilidh is lovely I absolutely love it, it so shows how much fun she is having, great video too, it's no wonder she is such an athletic girl with all her bounding about, reminds me of Summer.
Maggie is looking very well too Karen, I shall go down and pinch some of the photo's on here recently for the future calendars, I am getting ready to star designing them so ANYONE with photos to share send them on in now, end of June I will be done and dusted.
Tomorrow there will be news of a competition to win £150 as well as getting a fantastic goody bag, all to raise money for the Animal Health trust, watch this space........

Mazy at 16/17 weeks

Photos taken a couple of days ago (found the charger). Mazy loves the sunshine, doesn't want to come indoors. I wonder if she has some of Leah's and Diva's character, she is so loving and cuddly.

I love the video and photos of Ceilidh in the long grass, they love it don't they. I must take my two over the road to the field like that.

Lovely day here - hope it continues over the weekend. Elspeth I think that is a great picture of Ceilidh! She certainly was enjoying the grass in the video and Paddy bless him was buried in it! The grass is long here too and Maggie and Elsa love it. It's also full of buttercups which make a good background for a picture - but getting them to stay still long enough to take a picture is near on impossible!

Ali - Lydia won't be coming to the LMC show - just me as she has her theatre group on Saturdays and won't want to miss it.
