Took Duke and Duchess for their walk this evening, and as I rounded a corner, they were gone but I could hear Duchess's yipping which she does when she spots something interesting, I called to them and Duchess came down the mountainside right away, but Duke was out of sight and I whistled,...nothing... and finally he gave out a bark and came down the mountainside as fast as he could, sliding down shale at breakneck speed, and managed to rip a toenail short, ohhh how they bleed! Good thing my daughter carried a water bottle as he was one thirsty boy.
I still have no idea what they were chasing but I guess I'll have to keep them closer to me as we have black bears and mountain lions around. Hopefully it was just a rabbit or raccoon!
