When one of my dogs had a lipoma removed the vet suggested putting her in an old tee-shirt to stop her fussing with the wound. She looked ridiculous but it did the trick. Head through neck hole, front legs through sleeves and a hole in the bottom (at the back) for the tail, this also keeps it from riding up to the shoulders!
