Sophie and excited dogs

What a shame you didn't have someone with you to take a photo, sounds like you were having fun.

Domino always has and still does get very excited when visitors come. They are told to completely ignore her, some visitors manage it and some don't. When she has calmed down, we let Domino greet the visitors, but even then she can start to get excited again but not as bad and they may have to ignore her again. If it's someone at the front door that isn't coming in, I will put Domino in another room.

I took Domino to meet a pet behaviourist yesterday, for a socialisation session, had a lovely time but Domino seems to be unsure how she should greet another dog, she's very controlling but then backs away if there's a chance of confrontation. So we're not going to indoor dog training now (seemed to be making her worse), and looking for outside training to help control Domino better when we're out.

Mind you, after walking a friend's springer spaniel this morning and nearly losing him, I really don't think we have too much of a problem with Domino. How do you tell someone that their dog is totally out of control, he wouldn't even sit when I asked him, let along come back to us.

That's lovely to hear the rescue dog has a home.
