I managed to take the dogs out this morning - first time I've done a proper walk with them for over a week (cos of back op). I only walked them for about 25 mins, but it was great to get out in the fresh air and see them cavorting in the flooded fields! Drying them afterwards was a bit of a problem though. Now I've submitted my piece on Cassie I keep thinking of things that I forgot. Like how she can somehow manage to "stuff" cuddly toys into her mouth and sometimes carries 3 at a time! And how she likes me to turn on the bath tap when I'm in the bathroom so that she can have a drink. I went down and opened the back door for them this morning and went back to lie flat, half hour later I was greeted by a soaking wet Cassie complete with muddy stick!
I had a flood warning earlier in the week, advising me to take my livestock and vehicles to high ground, but thankfully all that's happended so far is there is more driftwood on the beach - shame I'm not up to collecting it, there must be a full winter's supply of logs out there!
