I did try and ring Judith to tell her this, but no reply - SO, doing it publicly! a BIG Thank You to Judith for helping me out at the club show, not only did she do her own job, as Tropy steward, but she "assisted" me with selling the calendars and diaries for the AHT. LOL she did most of it!!! I was busy selling raffle tickets in the morning and then in the afternoon making sure I had photos for Ali and Jo for club website and newsletter!!!
I would just like you to remind you all just how much work goes into club shows, from the organisation beforehand, to setting up, and cleaning up ;-( after the day!!! I was not the first there (I was just standing in for JO!) nor was I the last to leave, yet I was there from 8.40 am till - no idea - 3.30pm? and then, again, I did not have the longest journey, but still almost 6 pm when I got in!! (having left at just after 6.00 am) so it is a long day for the Committee members.
Jo got home from work at 9.oo pm. (having started at 5.30am) and then stayed up to type up results to publish to web pages the next morning (she could not do it immediately as wanted to check some of the results!!!) but I imagine some committee members had to empty out their cars, and sort stuff, even when got home, so would have had as long a day as Jo did!!!!
My point? let's give them all a clap on the back - because they do it three times a year!!!! and work behind the scenes during the rest of the year, producing the newsletter, updating the web pages, and of course organising seminars, events, etc., etc.,
