My mother had to get the fencing repaired in the field last week. The chap that did it made a huge pile of stuff he'd cleared away to be burnt, but he made the pile too close to one of our neighbours thatched cottage. Yesterday she called round to say how concerned she was and so Frank spent yesterday helping to move the huge pile further away. Today my mother lit it as the wind was in the right direction and tomorrow was forecast to rain I let Maggie and her whippet Nellie run around while it went up. The funny thing is though when you take Magge for a walk she will run off ahead and sometimes disappear from view yet in the paddocks if you don't walk with her she doesn't leave your side so I have to walk around the perimeter to make her run around. It's nice to know that she can go out there though without worrying she will run off somewhere. She does think it's her extended garden I think as she will bark at anyone walking past. We often get people walking through even though it's not a foot path which is another reason we had the fence re-newed as before you could walk straight through. It does mean now though that I have to clamber through the fence when I go out.
Karen, really lovely pictures of Charlotte and the puppies. How's you mum's whippet, shame we can't get the two together they'd love a fast run - does Domino keep up?
I think I'm all set for Laila now too, but like you Lins am planning to spend when I get to Crufts!
