I hope that Joanne & family are OK.
There have been some super photos & videos on here. Sarah, that vid was seriously clear. Ian took some video of me & Bosco @ Crufts on his new gadget, but I've not seen it yet. Quite frankly, that's possibly as well, LOL, as Bosco was a bit of a devil in the ring that day.
We wanted a musical name for the puppy who was to become Beecham. When we got to Judith's, we found that she was planning musical kennel names :) But, our little pup had the litter ID of Bandit and we were so very tempted to keep it as that. However, we narrowed our names down to Mullen (pronounced like woollen and not sullen) and Magnus (mahgnoos), but Ian only fancied the former if we had one of the kennel names on Judith's list and I wanted fate to play a part in the choice of kennel name. Fate played its part and we ended up with the kennel name of Mighty Symphony. So we collected Bandit and on the way home Ian called him Mullen and I called him Magnus!!! Obviously, that wouldn't do at all, so we introduced him to the neighbour as Puppy No Name!! Then, Ian said, 'conductors, what about Beecham?' We had dismissed many names of actual people as we didn't feel it appropriate for us, but Ian was OK with this one. So, I liked it, he liked and so we chose Beecham, which I think is very appropriate for Mighty Symphony, and it is a name which we both love and everyone seems to remember...
Whilst we are on names, we decided to have a kennel name as an anniversary present. We looked at Wychwood as that is my login here, but it had gone. Everything we looked at had gone. That was such a lucky thing as we ended up with a name that is even better for us - Teufelsmoor. For anyone who doesn't know, Teufelsmoor is Devils Moor (or bog). Wooster's (our first LM) kennel name was Lucifer, so we feel that this is in his memory.
Poor Beecham is lame at the mo and very sorry that he is not allowed to go for a walk. He doesn't look too bad on anything other than on gravel; it's definitely his foot. He had an antibiotic shot this morning in case he had had a thorn in his paw. It may be a bruise or even a hairline fracture in the toe. He doesn't seem to be in pain, although he clearly finds walking on gravel most uncomfortable, though he doesn't really need to walk on the drive if he's not going out :)
Bosco failed his Gold Test yesterday. In the end, he was more than capable of passing. He has found it very very hard to concentrate at training the last few weeks. One of the trainer's bitches is in season and she was hot at the weekend - they run them on the training paddock. Today, a friend came with a bitch, who was supposedly not in season, and Bosco went totally doolally, LOL.
Good luck to anyone going to Leeds, the Game Fair or the Working Test @ Melton Mowbray this coming weekend
