Before we collected him Theo was going to be 'Merlin' - we live in Wales, Merlin was a welsh wizard and we didn't know any other dogs with that name. But all the litter already had nicknames - he was 'Theo Threespot' (although as he has grown up the spots have merged into one) and he obviously knew his name so we kept it. (It made him the star of the puppy socialisation class as few of the other dogs knew their names.)
